It seems that the common man is always paying the price for the actions of other officials, whether it's corporations, politicians or doctors. When one of these institutions "fouls up" then the rest of us get effected negatively by it. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment announced this past Friday that state lawmakers have put a hold on over 4,200 medical marijuana applications, pending an investigation of several physicians for fraud.

Law enforcement claim they have witnessed on several occasions, patients being approved for medical cannabis by medical staff other then the physician. Colorado law requires direct personal physical examination between the physician and patient for medical marijuana consideration. But law enforcement says investigations show certain doctors have not complied with state laws by approving prescriptions without even meeting with potential marijuana patients to evaluate them for legally approved ailments, leaving the job to staff.

Thousands of patients are now forced to go without their medication, and the health department says it can take until the end of January for them to receive an answer.
