Just curious. I can imagine him being driven by his scrupulous nature to resign early for even more intense campaigning rather than miss votes and committee meetings that he feels he's being paid to attend.

I don't see Ron Paul not honoring his commitment to his district.

He's not gonna pull a Palin on his district.

It didn't occur to me to make the Palin comparison. She quit because she couldn't take the heat. If Ron Paul were to quit, it would be so he could fight harder and more effectively for his district (and the country).

Because it worked so well for Bob Dole, right?

I wouldn't want to see him formally leave early, but missing a few rambling committee meetings and less than meaningful votes in pursuit of the most powerful position in the world would seem to make sense to me.

His D.C. office staff takes care of the day-to-day responsibilities. If there was a close vote on important legislation he could always fly in. Unfortunately, while on the campaign trail, he might miss some chances to grill Bernanke. And just as the guy was about to crack and admit it's all a big fraud!
