This does NOT mean that it is time to rest. If we think we are going to win, we need to fight for it like we expect to lose. This is NOT the time to sit on our asses, get out there and do whatever you can do to continue promoting Ron Paul in Iowa. Im sure there are probably quite a few Newt Supporters that would be apphauled at the suggestion of the Death Penalty for Smoking Pot.

Iowa does not a nomination win. (but it sure will help)

Time to double down; a win is not good enough. We need to obliterate the rest of the field!!

Keep up the great work!

Not really, why do this when everyone in the movement hates the argument of voting for the lesser of two evils. Letīs stick to a higher level. Just try to convert everyone by painting paul positive and an obama challenge. None of those require lying.

at this point it'd be really nice if gary johnson would step down from the running an endorse paul... he isn't getting the support to ever have a reasonable chance of winning, and he seems to be excluded from all of the debates now anyhow.

I agree with fatjohn's comments and will add this. Think of Johnson supporters (as well as Libertarian Party or Constiution Party and other friends of liberty) as money in the bank or in a CD. We may not be able to pull that money out as easily as we would like, but it is far safer in Gary's hands than in Newt's paws. We just keep pushing and welcome ALL voters from ALL camps and hope those Johnson supporters give some love on voting day.

Johnson's 1% is trivial. I'd much rather steal another 3% from Newt than try to browbeat Johnson's supporters when they're probably going to support us anyway.

This poll represents numbers in transition. Paul is not just catching up as Newt is faltering, the two are in the middle of criss-crossing their positions. Judging by the speed of his descent, Newt has not merely peaked early, he's absolutely crashing! Would be wonderful if another poll had Paul numerically in first place by the next debate!

If Ron Paul wins Iowa, it will be the biggest victory for liberty in over 100 years, nomination or not.

Agreed. Even if we win, we need to win by a landslide so it can't be so easily dismissed as a fluke.

Hopefully by the time the caucus comes around, the current Newt supporters will no longer on board because they will have realized what a fraud the man is by then. That will drop Newt's numbers, and I think the Johnson supporters will come over by then as well. I have a feeling Gary will drop out before the Iowa caucuses come around.

When you add up the Newt and Romney support we are close to 20% down. Being close in a big field makes the numbers look very good right now, but if Newt drops out and his support goes to Romney it will be a tough challenge to overcome. Paul needs to win big so that when one of those two drops out he can still win it all.

Then we counter with the smearing the MSM has been doing. Run a "serial bias media ad" we should have pleanty of ammo to fire back. The latest Jon Stewart video for starters. We pull the gloves off.

could Johnson and Bachmann be convinced to run for the senate? Johnson would make a great senator, and even IRS agent Bachmann would be a vast improvement over SOPA sponsor Amy.

That's the impasse the establishment finds itself in. Two strong social conservative candidates never materialized, to cancel each other out like last time (Huckabee and Thompson), thus opening the way for Romney to dominate early on, as McCain did last time. Bachmann, Perry, and Cain all fizzled, and Gingrich is fizzling, but he will hang in there long enough to ruin Mitt's chance to break out in January. This stall gives Paul the window needed to dominate and steal the momentum from both of them.
