Bachman, Perry, Cain, Gingrich. They all thought they're rise in the polls was due to people embracing their ideas. They were wrong. We shouldn't make this mistake.

We are rising in the polls, but the only thing that means is that we have more of an opening to explain to people our ideas. We have to use this to our advantage. We aren't really winning these people over, they just don't have anywhere else to go.

It is the easiest thing in the world to see these new numbers as justification for what we've been doing, but if we do that, we'll fall into the same trap. I know the campaign is smart enough to realize this. I just want you guys to realize this, too.

The exposure we are about to receive is going to be big. We can use this to increase the impact of the moneybomb. We can use this to attract more people to our ideas. We can use this to have more media acceptance (which will also bring attacks). But we mustn't believe we have won anything. We have an opening. That's it. Use it wisely.

I think you have a point, but I don't agree 100%. The former front-runners were there because of the media. Ron isn't. As he said, his support grows steadily and strongly. Usually, once you decide to go with Ron, you don't go back.

So, yes, I think we must be cautious. But I don't agree that Ron's surge is anything like the artificial surge of other candidates. Look at his ABC interview, in which the "journalist" spent all the time trying to make him support another candidate. The media is not behind Ron's surge. That's the big difference.

We must be cautious because, as Ron gets to the top, he'll be attacked more and more. The big thing is foreign policy. How do we show that non-interventionism is the conservative foreign policy? I think the interview with Jack Hunter about Israel is great. But we need a series of this to clarify his position. Not just to the public, but to the media.

The thing to take away here is to keep working like we are polling in last place. RUN LIKE WE'RE LOSING!

Apparently Hannity is starting to bring up newsletters again. I would not be surprised if Ron Paul will be attacked in the next few week very heavily, I'm thinking:
1- newsletters
2- "flip flopping" on gays in military etc
3- defense of marriage act
4- abortion
5- "abandoning seniors and letting the sick die"

...will be the points of the attacks.

This was a very wise post. I personally don't believe that a majority of people will suddenly buy into our ideas. Over a century of national brainwashing cannot be undone in a few days. But what we can do is hammer away on one point that everyone agrees on, and that is this:

Ron Paul is the only truly moral, good, honest, consistent, principled, and trustworthy human being running for the presidency. It is time we had one of those in the White House, finally. Forget all these other politicians and vote Ron Paul.

I don't believe that America will suddenly realize his policies are genius. But I do believe america will suddenly realize they need a genuinely good person in the White House who will not lie to them any more.

We must understand our "real" support is still around 15%. The extra numbers are great, but I think they're easily lost if we take them for granted. We gained because Newt was exposed. These people needed a place to go. We will make the same mistake as the others if we think this means they have finally woken up.

I hope we don't get complacent and rest on our laurels. The attacks will come hard and fast and we must be vigilant.

Great post!

We have a long way to go, I mean Perry was at 37% in national polls a couple of months ago!

I hope this money bomb is huge!

I think you have a point, but I don't agree 100%. The former front-runners were there because of the media. They were there because people got sick of whoever they were supporting and needed someplace else to go. Sure, the media has been giving them direction, but their support still moved, not because of the ideas of the new person, but because of disenchantment of the last. The only difference this time is that the media didn't direct them to Ron Paul, he's just getting the nod by default - there's nobody else left. (Except for Santorum, but most know he's not viable.)

I can agree with, "Once you go to Ron, you don't go back", but that only holds true if you come to Ron by the virtue of his ideas. That is not the case here. Let's not fool ourselves. We have an opening to convert them based upon these ideas, but they're coming over because they're running away from Gingrich.

This is very true! One thing I would like to add is that Dr. Paul's base grows, but it does not really decrease. That is because he has something that no other candidate has right now and that is he has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is TRUSTWORTHY! Dang that is a big deal for someone who is going to be running our country!
I would like to implore the folks that are "in the know" on the issues to please exersize your greatest amount of patience with the new people that come in. When I was new here, I put myself in your face and begged to be taught, others might not feel the same determination that I did. I asked some pretty dumb questions and argued incorrect points till some of you were blue in the face. LOL. Just remember, that what we can do here for the good of our country is to be patient and friendly! :)

Remember her words, everyone!

Please be on your best behavior. I know everyone wants to ridicule or put down ones opponents. But I beg you. This is more important than our egos! Please! Dr. Paul treats questioners and opponents with respect... (ok, he might have attacked Newt but he didn't strike any low blows.)
