$50 billion spent on cancer is motivated by just plain, boring health/humanitarian/love for others kind of concern.

$1.2 Trilllion (this cost figure in that graph is underestimated) is motivated by more powerful motivators like irrational fear, revenge, greed, religious sracism, secular racism, lust for bloodshed etc.
