The majority of Disney shares were owned by Sid R. Bass until 2001. Sid R. Bass is an oil baron with ties to Middle Eastern oil investments. He is among the top 300 richest people in the world at a net worth of approx. $3 Billion.
Sid R. Bass sold the majority of his shares to the Griffith Family and is now on the board of directors of The Griffith Group...
The Griffith Group owns large portions of Time-Warner, MGM, and investment firm KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts)...
With that comes a whole new chain of bailouts, military contracts, and other various corporate welfare income directly and indirectly that comprise multiple sectors from real-estate to utilities to defense contracts to banks helping banks to ownership of other major main stream media institutions to you name it.
