Sorry, this is my first election ever (even tho I'm 36), but this whole thing I can't get a straight answer on. I don't have to register Repub in MI, it's an open primary, OK, so I was also told all MI delegates were chosen before I got interested in RP, so what exactly do I do on primary day? Does my vote still matter, also then what is the caucus? I've heard news reports asking who will sit around for hours on caucus day? What does that mean, do I have to do something in addition to voting? Please, any help is appreciated, I currently have about 15 other people who I've "converted" and pretty much follow my lead so I want to know what I'm doing when the time comes.

WOW!!!! Thank you. That was all I needed to know, one note tho, MI is not a closed primary, you just have to "declare" you are a Republican when you vote, but you don't have to officially change your party.

This early? That's unusual. Who told you this? Some county Republican official who rolled their eyes at you when you mentioned Ron Paul? Most of us haven't even had our precinct meetings yet.

Who here is in Michigan, and can help us out here?

Should have gotten her name, but she was one of the coordinators for the Ron Paul campaign in MI, I met her when I went to the debate last month, I had also heard the same from the local GOP, I never told them I supported Ron Paul and they seemed pretty enthused for new members, they tried to get me to become a future delegate, so I don't know, they seemed legit, maybe I'm wrong????
