View Full Version : Too many money bombs

Hey,

I keep seeing more and more money bombs pop-up, and I don't think more is better.

As much as I'd like to contribute to all of them I can't.

If the market is too saturated people will undoubtedly resort to in-fighting to recruit donaters to their cause.

We need unification. We need direction. We need to show we are capable of self governance.

Our efforts need to work in harmony. Having this many money-bombs, so close together does not promote that.

Don't start bickering if I am right or wrong. DO NOT DERAIL THIS THREAD BY SAYING "I DON'T THINK YOUR RIGHT". Be productive and make a thread titled "lots of money bombs are good for Paul" or whatever your anti-argument is.

If you are skeptical of my claims
Google "1954 The Robbers Cave Experiment"

This is what I want:
I want the leadery of all the upcoming money bombs (Nov 6, Dec 15, Dec 6, etc) to get togeather are figure out one big fund-raiser. THIS MEANS THAT THEY WILL HAVE TI SACRIFICE THEIR OWN PROJECT FOR THE GOOD OF THE COMMUNITY.

Now is not the time for ego and self-gratification. You may want a big fund raiser of your own, but being able to self-sacrifice is a virtue.

NB: please give a logical reason to support your argument, the idea is to get things done, not just banter aimlessly

December 16th. That's the only one you need to pay any attention to unless your pockets are deep enough to participate in all the smaller ones. I suppose the one on Nov 11th might be somewhat substantial but just focus on December 16th. I agree that it's stupid to muddy the waters with too many of these.

December 16th. Ron Paul's major issue is unfair taxation and no other event symbolizes the beginning of this second revolution against unfair taxation as the anniversary of the boston tea party.

I personally like an early December date because that will give people time to recoup for the end of the year push. Let's use strategy fellas.

Well I think Dec 16th is going to be the main one, along the lines of the 5th of Nov or perhaps even better. A couple money bombs in between is good, because it will encourage people to donate now rather than later, and will still give plenty of time to let Dec 16th to go viral.

I agree with this statement.

In the degenerate case, with too many moneybombs, you get every day is a moneybomb, which defeats the point.

One day a month seems like a good target. After all, people only get paid so often.

I like the Tea Party idea.

December 16th seems to be the consensus, we definitely gotta go with that one now.

I think nov. 11th will also be a nice little bump to help Nov. out, ill be promoting those 2 only i think.

December 16th for me. I'll be ready by then and that is the one we should be promoting IN ADDITION TO the 11th. The 11th money bomb is still on as planned, and it gives us more than 30 days (2 paychecks) between Veteran's day and the Tea Party.

After the Tea Party, we have 14 days (1 paycheck) to prep for an end of the year push, which shouldn't need much promoting. All supporters pretty much know when the quarter will end.

I don't see anything wrong with that. So for now we promote both, and after the 11th we promote the hell out of Dec 16!

Definately the 16th. If you thought the 5th was big, wait til you see our nationwide Tea Party!

I've seen numerous Money Bomb dates as well and agree there needs to be focus on 1 at a time! It will definetly be more effective that way. Looks like the 16th is popular and we need to start promoting it ASAP on myspace, facebook, youtube etc....

Is there a website set up for the 16th yet?

Just don't expect them all to be big like November 5th.

November 11th should be good for a million.

The Friday after Thanksgiving, ThanksPauling, should be good for another million.

December 15th-16th, THAT will be our big event, ten million dollars.

Then end up the year on December 31st with one final fourth quarter blitz.

We can get $20,000,000 for the quarter.

i think the 16th could potentially be way bigger than the 5th... we have way more time to plan, and a ton of new support.

It could smash the 5th

I think the 16th is great, but there needs to be something before that, even if it's something small. I think the 11th will be very successful, but maybe we should shoot for a push every 2 weeks or so?

My reasoning is that giving money in December is great, but giving money in November is greater, because it gives the campaign more time to lock down advertising in the early primary states. The Iowa caucuses are 57 days away, and we don't have a ton of time.

Lol.

You want CENTRALIZATION?

Have faith in the "Free Market of ideas"

Sure, a couple dozen new "Dr. Paul moneybombs" will pop up. But like with all things in the free market: The good ideas will stick, the bad ones will sink.

The worst thing Dr. Paul could do right now is to try and direct/tell the internet how to conduct fundraising!

My Christmas cards will read something along the lines of "Instead of wasting money on frivolous gifts, I instead donated to the Ron Paul campaign. The future of our country is more important than a new sweater."

P.S. Don't buy me anything. Donate to Ron Paul instead: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/

the 11th will be important but the 16th will be huge

i'm matching my donation i made on the 5th for the 11th but i'll go quite a bit larger for december 16th.

The 16th

Any chance we can get an average of $200 per person? If we can increase to about 40,000 donors at $200 we can set the definitive one day record at $8 million, this would also in all lieklihood move RP close to a $20 million dollar haul. I dont think even Romney is willing to write that big of a check.....but he will, that assclown

Hey,

I keep seeing more and more money bombs pop-up, and I don't think more is better. To quote Paul Walker from a legendary masterpiece "The Fast and The Furious", well I do

As much as I'd like to contribute to all of them I can't.
Don't

Don't start bickering if I am right or wrong.

Let me bicker any way, just a little. You don't mind, do you, Anonymous? Just donate however much you can. Don't feel bad if the money bomb is for $100 and you only got $5. Anything and everything counts. I don't think any less of people who for financial reasons cannot join a $2300 club.

I was giving $50 every pay day, until yall came up with the Nov 5th money bomb idea - so I held off donating until the big day - and look at all of the publicity we gained with that one day!

Now I don't know about the rest of you but it is worth eating macaronie and cheese or ramen noodles for awhile, if it means a more prosperous future. The concept of dropping these money bombs is not to fleece all of your money, but to give to a worthy cause, and garner some respect and media attention in the process - it is going to take loads of money to get Ron Paul through the primaries! Then he has to get through the race with the Democrats in the general election. We may have to change our life styles to fund this race - eat mac and cheese, ride bikes to work instead of drive, make pb&j sandwiches instead of eating Big Macs, etc...

Keep your eyes on the prize, and give all that you possibly can - money bomb or not!

(PS - this is the first time I have EVER contributed to a political campaign EVER - in 30 years!)

Dec 16th.
the purpose of a money bomb is to have a large amount of money donated on one day to gain media exposure, if you have too many of these, the money is spread thiner because of so many events, thus, running the risk of not making a news worthy donation day because of donor exhaustion.

torchbearer
11-07-2007, 08:32 PM
In fact, with many money bombs we run the risk of negative press if we fail at all of them, do to the spread of donations over many days.

Agreed. December 16th is the next BIG one. But guys, now that we have people's eyes on us, and the money bomb of November 11th has been talked about in the news, is it wise to let it fall flat?
