Here is my update plan for my area to include goals.

WEEKEND for LIBERTY!
December 14th, 15th, & 16th

*What is the Weekend for Liberty?*

The Weekend for Liberty is the national umbrella name for a number of events centered around Bill of Rights Day (Dec. 15th) and the Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party (Dec. 16th). We are combining many events and fundraisers in order maximize exposure and earned media. The intent is to make sure everyone in the nation gets exposed to the Ron Paul Revolution through multiple mediums over the course of 72 hours.

*What is the events schedule for our area (Greater Birmingham)?*

• Friday December 14th - We will be blanketing the entire metro area with Ron Paul signs, using both traditional sign methods (yard signs, utility pole signs, 8' x 4' Chloroplast signs, etc) and non-traditional methods (banners, etc).

• Saturday December 15th - We will be canvassing as much of the metro as we can with door-2-door, flyer handouts at malls, and other highly effective direct and traditional campaigning methods. We will be starting out in the most libertarian/conservative areas of the metro and work our way out from there.

• Sunday December 16th - We will be participating in a national "money bomb" that is expected to blow away the 5th of November. We will be hosting a house party fundraiser Sunday afternoon as a means of maximizing donations. People who cannot attend will be encouraged to donate online or by phone from their home or Sunday location. We will also be having a competition between metro activists to see who can bundle the most donations for Ron Paul on this day. The winner will receive to be copy of the Constitution signed by Ron Paul.

• December 17th -19th – We will be very active promoting Ron Paul to the local media. We need to blitz newspaper opinion pages and talk radio.

*What goals do we have for the Birmingham metro for the Weekend for Liberty?*

1. $30,000+ raised – This puts our area at the per capita level needed to raise $9,000,000 nationally. We must meet or beat the national average, since we hope to show we in Alabama are for real.

2. 10,000 homes canvassed – That is direct contact with 20,000 potential voters – Sounds like a lot but can easily be achieved in one weekend with dedicated supporters.

3. Digital billboards – The great thing about this election compared to previous ones is that we can run ads on digital billboards to target specific events. A digital billboard is ~$40 per day. Lets run several from the 14th to the 19th to push the campaigning 101 principal of multiple mediums within a short period of time.

4. Newspaper Inserts – We will be receiving much press on Monday. That’s a fact. Now we should exploit that by pushing out some newspaper inserts in the Monday edition of the Birmingham News. We should target specific areas that are most likely to vote in the Republican primary; This pushes us down to about 1/3rd of the Birmingham News circulation.

5. Radio Ads – Again since we know we will be receiving much attention in the news on Monday we should reinforce the campaigning 101 principals of multiple mediums in minimal time again. We can cheaply run radio advertisements on talk radio from the 14th through the 19th.

6. Signs – We need to get 50 8’ x 4’ chloroplast signs up, 500 yard signs, 1000 utility pole signs, and 200 vinyl banners. Signs are an effective and cheap medium to help build momentum and name recognition. While we cannot win a Presidential election with name recognition, we can put ourselves in the position for our other efforts to be much more effective.

Did you see my yard sale idea? Why not canvass from a sitting position in the morning while getting more money for the Dec 16th donation? :D
