Stream: http://www.kgmi.com/pages/2977035.php

Interview will start right after the commercial break.

If someone could record this and post it on Youtube that would be glorious. Rand Paul does a great job in this interview with Hannity.

From what i read about that, the surplus in the late 90s wasnt even intentional or planned to happen.

Pretty good interview. Rand got Hannity all excited beforehand about a "breaking news" announcement. Hey Shawn, how often are those flashing "breaking news" banners on Fox really breaking news? Hannity appreciated the use of the "breaking news" angle, so it was no big deal.

Rand called out Newt on TARP, individual health mandates, Freddie/Fannie, etc. Good segment.

I think that might be a good idea. A lot of people don't make up their minds until the last minute and seeing as Rand has high favorables with conservatives having him go there for the home stretch we may get the most bang for the buck.

What surpluses? The debt went up every year in the 1990s. There was never any surplus. This myth needs to be shattered. In fact, ever year in the 1990s had a deficit. Period. Those are the facts. Don't let them use the stupid GDP to Debt ratio crap. It's an obfuscation and manipulative tool.

Now that Newt is in there, they buy right into the reality of a surplus.

The declaration of war issue, for one.

According to other sources (http://quaap.com/D/clinton-surplus-factcheck.html), the debt went up. Not only did Clinton/Newt pilfer social security trust funds, they benefited from the dot-com boom (extra income tax, capital gains - nevermind if most of it disappeared in by 2001). Nor does it appear Federal outlays decreased under Newt - the pace appears similar to other years:
