I just finished chatting with a grassroots organizer in Northern NH, who's gonna be covering the areas lying in Coos, Grafton, and Carroll Counties. The state of the Campaign's organization in those areas is pretty dire apparently, and we really need to find them some volunteers, and fast. They have only a very short list of people to go on, and I already provided him the FEC list of Ron Paul's NH donors to give him a few more people, hopefully.

I asked him what they need right now in terms of money or supplies, and this is what he says:

We need large maps of the counties so we can mark them up and help with directions for the Town captains/co-captains. The maps that you can normally find are a large book, and its awkward. We need a large map for the meetup so we can divide up the county by towns and assign them (also needed for directions).

We need a Lg. map that can be put up on a lg. notepad for an essel, but what we really need are county maps divided by towns that are large enough for a small group to see at meetings. I want to be able to track the Streets/Roads that are done by highlighting them.

Some Town maps are available. I have one for the town of Whitefield for instance. It would be beneficial to give out a Town Map with each packet of walking/driving lists for each town captain and co-captain.

So what can we do to help? Does anyone know where we can find maps like that for Coos, Grafton, and Carroll counties of NH? Maybe some of you here have engineering contacts that have a line on suppliers for maps of this sort?

We really need to give these guys everything they need and FAST. This is starting to look more and more like 2007 in NH!

I have the ability to print large high quality maps, but you have to give me the files to work with. I can mail them to you ASAP after printing them.

I'll keep that in mind! I'm just not sure where to get files for such maps...

Screenshot it and edit.

County offices should have county maps available, right? Library is a nice idea, but if they need a few copies of those maps, you probably need some specialized machines to make those copies?...

Have you asked the NH campaign office?

Have you asked the NH campaign office?

He is definitely aware of the Campaign infrastructure up there... There's a campaign contact in Carroll Co. that he knows about... I believe he's asking for these because he hasn't been able to get anything meaningful from the Campaign up there, otherwise he would have said it's taken care of.

That looks pretty powerful... I think you need AutoCAD software to open and print the maps they offer? Just from a quick glance.

Eric21ND - can you do anything with these? Do you have/need AutoCAD for these?

I'm out of town right now, but I have a couple of contacts that are surveyors and septic designers, they would have, or know where to get, such maps.

I'll send a couple of emails, see what I can do.

Update from the grassroots leader who needs the maps:

We may be able to get some county maps from the counties... I will need to check... But the most important is a county map that breaks down the individual towns and townships (about 3'x4'... doesn't need to be in that ratio, but about that size).
