not directly ron related, or even entirely supportive of his positions (the article advocates new sanctions, ironically just a few words after explaining how they don't work), but it does make a compelling case against military action.

it's good to see some of the military brass opposing yet another war.

Yeah, decent article. I'll pass on the retweet cuz it promotes sanctions, but still good to see military support for peace.

Talk of bombing Iran is again proliferating as a talking point among politicians who want to sound tough on national security.

And here we go again. The intentional blurring of the issue.

Newsflash: killing Iranians has nothing to do with our "national security".

Pure scum.

Sanctions on Iran is an Act of War.

Let’s be clear: A U.S. attack on Iran runs a great risk of starting a regional war — our fourth war in 10 years. Isn’t that what we want to avoid in the first place?

Here are U.S. policy options to stop this from happening:

First, tougher sanctions. Though sanctions have inflicted great costs on the Iranian economy, they haven’t stalled Iran’s nuclear aspirations. We need to ratchet up sanctions by focusing sharply on the Iranian petrochemical industry, the Iranian Central Bank and Revolutionary Guard assets.

The Folly of Sanctions (http://paul.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1930:the-folly-of-sanctions&catid=62:texas-straight-talk&Itemid=69) - Ron Paul

Many people have the misconception that sanctions are an effective means to encourage a change of behavior in another country without war. However, imposing sanctions and blockades are not only an act of war according to international law, they are most often the first step toward a real war starting with a bombing campaign. Sanctions were the first step in our wars against Iraq and Libya, and now more sanctions planned against Syria and Iran are leading down the same destructive path. - Ron Paul
