I plan on doing some canvassing this weekend to get some signatures for my run for water commissioner.

I would like to get some information to help out the campaign while I am at it.

Do we have a canvassing site similar to the phone from home program?

Introduce yourself, ask people what they think. If they have no opinion but express curiosity, give them some ideas. If they don't care, just express how you care about the job at hand.

Yes, it really is that simple.

How will this get voter information to the Ron Paul campaign?

It's doubtful the campaign will be doing canvassing in FL.

Collect the info you want(top 2 issues, presidential preference, thoughts on local issue, etc.) and see if anyone else wants/can chip in to print off some flyers and do a lit drop based off that data. follow up before election day to make sure those prefering RP make it to the poll

ask what are the most important issues to them. And what gerryb said....

Good idea for an informational thread... maybe I can put one together in a bit.

A system called Voter Tracker was created for use in Iowa, may be using it elsewhere, too.

Ask: "Who are you currently supporting?
Ask: "What is the most important issue for you?"
Explain: Ron Paul's position on that issue and how he differs from their choice.
Ask: "What reservations, if any, do you have about supporting Ron Paul?"
Address concerns.
