cbs had Bachmann higher than any of the other polls did and sees a place for her in a way the other polls don't. But the discussion is interesting.

Good article. I love how Ron Paul is being factored into the "horserace" this time.

Finally, when asked about the future, only 17 percent think it will be better for their children than today.

:( Methinks Dr. Paul needs to an ad that promotes optimism....

He is barely being "factored" in and it appears with some reluctance.

We must continue pressing on in Iowa and not allow Bachmann to gain momentum. This could be a problem later with such strong views on social conservatives favoring her and the graph showing Dr. Paul so low in all the categories.

I wonder if the Iowa socialcons have forgotten Bachman's drug problem? Not saying I see anything wrong with that, but guys we're close to pulling this off and I'll be damned of that plagiarist sneaks in late to try and steal votes from Ron Paul trying to talk like he does while hiding her other neocon positions which some are much different than Newt.

What's wrong with Bachmann catching on? Doesn't she take away from Newt?

If the social cons rally behind her that might be all she needs to pull this off as Huckabee did. They won't go to Newt but they could her.

No, because she has wholesale appropriated Ron's talking points on a number of issues, from going to his Thursday economics lunches in Congress. While she may well be as sincere as she knows (since it conflicts with her foreign policy views) some check that point off their list when they might come to Ron.

But I don't know that Bachmann is really in the mix, this is the only one of the polls that has her at this level, and CBS HATES Ron. They could just be trying to suggest there might be an alternative.

I don't think she'll win, by any means. I'm just afraid she might keep people who would go to Ron who Ron might need to win.

From the article:

four-person race: Gingrich, Romney, Ron Paul and a "true" social conservative like Michele Bachmann

LOL!!

The media is so freaking predictable.

As I said, they HATE Ron. Not on social conservative reasons but because of the MIC.
