I've been promoting Ron Paul on other forums and there is this one guy who keeps challenging RP supporters to a $100 bet that Ron Paul won't win the nomination. Do any of you wanna take this guy up on his bet?

Tell him you already sent the $100 to the campaign, along with 40,000 other people.

That guy doesn't look like he's got 100 bucks to pay back. He can't even afford a shirt.

If you want to bet $100 he will win, donate it to the campaign.

Ask him what he thinks the odds are of Ron Paul winning.
Let's say he says a thousand to one.
Then you offer to cut the odds in half. You'll put up $100 if he wins, but if he loses then he must pay $50,000.

the odds are about 12 to 1 on intrade.

I want longer odds than that, because I don't think its representative of what most people think. Also, more profit.

$100? thats chump change. 2 days ago people bet $4 million that he 's going to win.

It would be stupid for you to make that bet, unless he had to pay out $1000 if he won.

Yeah, any bet where you get one candidate, and he gets the "field" of everyone else is horrible. I would take any bet where you get to pick any ONE candidate right now, and I take everyone else.

Call me crazy, here's what I have invested (Canadian and can't donate but would if I could)

$200 for republican nom. with a friend (he gave me 13-1)
$200 with canbet.com republican nom. (11-1)
$300 with intrade.com, 3.3-3.6% for presidency
$150 with intrade.com, 6.7% for rep. nomination

I made a $10 with my friend, a reluctant RP supporter, that he'd win the New Hampshire Primaries.

I think I have a good chance of winning

Depends on the odds.
Since he's not the frontrunner, and there's still what, 8 guys left, he should give us about 20-1 odds.

If he'll do that.....

Tell him I'm in for 200 and my brother is 6'-8" and weighs 340lbs and doesn't like welchers.

You have 16 to 1 odds on intrade for that bet.

Is it fair to assume his favorite movie is Joe Dirt? LOL

And it would not be a straight 2:1 bet. He would have to use the standard odds (I think somewhere around 15:1 for the presidency) meaning a payout liability of $1400 smackers)

This guy obviously wouldn't have the money to pay up even if he did lose, so its a no lose situation for him

If he wins, you pay him, if he loses, you never hear from him again...

You shouldn't leave hilarious things lying around where someone with an injured back like me might trip over them.

Actually Romney has led Iowa by a landslide but Huckabee of all people has moved to the #2 spot. I can't wait for all of the Ron Paul conspiracy theories once the primary voting begins (they left his name off of the ballot, aliens approached me in the voting booth and threatned to kidnap me and probe my anus if I voted for Ron Paul, etc etc).

I have a 100 bet with a friend with 5-1 odds that he'll "show" (1-3rd place) in NH. Funny thing is that the bet was made before he became a Ron Paul supporter so he's not so sure of his bet anymore.

First of all, "I haven't seen none of you" is a double negative, so he actually means he HAS seen us do it. Second...................

Ill take him up on the bet if he agrees that if he wins, he promises to spend the money getting some new teeth.:D

I have a bet with a neocon acquaintance. $40, if Dr. Paul doesn't win NH, I have to give to the troops. If he does win, the neocon gives to the troops.

I told him, I would give $40 to the troops regardless of the outcome. Ron Paul supporters support the troops, we don't support illegal wars.

Ask him which candidate he is willing to put $100 on to get the nomination. Because of the crowded field, an even odds bet on any one is a sucker's bet.
