lol!

How often do you see Ron and Rove on the same side? Only Rove wants to save Mitt the risk of taking a stand. Ron just took one.

Well they are both republicans and Roves first loyalty is to his team. I think they both know that Trump is in Obama's backpocket and that the candidates that participate in this are going to regret it.

If we can get the other candidates to back out of this, do you guys understand how HUGE that will be?!

It's a clear demonstration of leadership. Ron Paul stands up to the Donald and the rest follow? Perfect.

I think NewsMax might drop the whole thing if they only get Gingrich, Bachman, and Santorum. The credibility of those candidates will be lessened.

Rove also wants a gold standard, so I guess he stands with Ron on that too.

I really think we should put a call to action and contact the Romney campaign encouraging Mitt not to attend. The pressure "supporters" could put on him would be more then enough for him to back out, I guarantee it.

I'd love for Romney not to be there, it would neutralize the whole debate in terms of media importance

Wouldnt the fact that Romney doesnt have any supporters draw some suspicion though?

wow, Rove made some of the best points I've heard articulated for the general consumer.

Santorum just tweeted that he's attending the Trump "debate."

You know i actually thought for two seconds today that Trump may be able to control himself to moderate a debate. Then i saw the msnbc interview this morning were he spent the majority of the time calling the interviewer a liar and talking about how great his show was doing. I really hate this guy And i can not believe ppl are actually attending. I hope he eats them alive.

Considering that Trump just pretty much said that is Paul or Huntsman gets the not he's going to run 3rd party and hand the election to Obama, it makes me vomit to say it but I agree with Rove on this one.

Did he actually name Ron as the one he would run 3rd party against? So far, he has just implied it.

I will always give Rove props for pretty much being spot on these things. His policy's suck but the man knows how to play the political game. So when he is on our side on this its a big deal :).

His public views on Paul have gone from I like the guy but he's unelectable and has no chance to he is a joke and has zero chance he is the clown of the race... so yeah i think he'll pull that crap

Trump makes his money off of the general public via casinos, hotels, books, and TV shows. It would honestly be foolish for him to become widely hated for playing political games.

Trump is foolish and might do it, but he should always be reminded of that.

Exactly. Rove knows how to play to win.

Rove is still respected by a lot of establishment republicans. Any time his statements echo the actions of Ron Paul it aides in our credibility as a sustainable major party candidate. Like it or not, in order to finance the campaign to the White house we will eventually need to lure establishment donors with deep pockets. Luckily, thanks to our efforts with phone from home, super brochures, and continual fund raising we have been able to help the campaign prepare their taking of the Iowa caucus.

Don't flood Romney! Nudge a little. But don't look like a bunch of Ron Paul people trying to convince him of something.

Until today, for the longest time, I thought Karl Rove was Webster Tarpley.

That whole thing is going to get out of hand. I admire the sentiment behind it, and thought the reviews were really funny, but it encourages blowback.

What would be better would be for some interested parties to actually read his recent political book and do a in-depth blog post ripping it to shreds. You can post it on Amazon, but it wouldn't be hard to get it in search results for "Donald Trump Time to Get Tough" if anyone looks it up.

With Trump, it can get much bigger. I will bring up the word boycott for Trump businesses should he run. Even better than a boycott would be some really good investigative journalism showing his long-standing connections to the Democratic party. There may be a lot more dirt and cronyism there than we know about.

romney has to be there 'cuz he is about to be ambushed by newt.
part of the game is picking a cabinet and THE Donald is known for
handing out jobs on reality tv so ole mitt is about to be the football
insted of the quarterback. mitt's quietly hid ego thinks he can hold
onto frontrunner despite how newt G sucks the air out of all rooms.

i think jon huntsman and ron paul could hold a quasi-debate where they are very polite
to each other and make apt comments on that NYC zoo of a circus on a jumbotron HDTV
as the public spectacle goes through its paces. ron paul would get more airtime + quips in!

Even if you hate the guy, he's still a successful GOP strategist. If he says the campaign is doing things right and Ron can win, there's no harm in that.
