HERE IS MY PREDICTION:

This debate will now be perceived as Romney vs Newt. Romney doesn't want a one on one debate so he may drop. If that happens then it'll be the rest of the candidates vs Newt on stage which Newt doesn't want. This means that Newt may drop.

So my prediction is that this event won't happen at all, thanks to Ron Paul's fortitude.

I think Romney may drop just because it is Trump and Ron gave him cover. Then the ones who go will be seen as the 'reality show' candidates by a large slice of the electorate.

Newsmax should pick a different moderator.

Sailing, I posted in another thread this bit from politico. Newt was asked about it today and he compared Trump to Bill Gates :D

He also said this will be great for "entertainment value", shows he seriously he takes the office of the presidency:

The comments are looking good. I think they made a decent call on this. I wonder what Perry and Bachman will do?

yeah, if Bachman, Perry, or Santorum agree to go on then it could be in Romney's political interest to decline to make them look stupid. Then this would at the same time save Paul and Huntsman from looking like the crazies with no chance.

I hope Romney declines, I think that would be ideal for us, but even if he doesn't I think it was still a good move. There was some quote by a Huntsman guy about how he'll enjoy eating popcorn and watching Newt and Romney suck up to Trump and looking like buffoons.

Also, isn't it ironic that Newt would be the first one to agree to go to this when he's always the one insulting the moderator about not asking questions of substance? Looks like we have yet another example of Newt's hypocrisy.

Someone make a "Circus of Republicans" poster "with Ringmaster Donald Trump". Don't forget the "Only on Ion."
