One month from today, the 2012 Republican primary season will begin as Iowans take to the state's first-in-the-nation caucuses.Despite years of media blackouts, ostracization by GOP groups and eye-rolling from pundits, Texas Congressman Ron Paul is within reach to turn the supposed conventional wisdom on its head.
He is, after all, perhaps the only serious conservative option left.
According to the current RealClearPolitics average, former House speaker Newt Gingrich leads Iowa Caucus polls with 26.3 percent, followed by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (15 percent); Herman Cain (14.3 percent) and Paul, closing in at 11 percent, well within the margin of error for most polls.
