I skipped them the first time. Some day I might read it closely. It's not that I disagree with her but she spent a lot of time bashing original sin and religion and stuff, and those things weren't even credible to me to begin with, so it wasn't very interesting.

Everyone I have talked to had pretty much the same reaction to the speech. I loved it, and it kind of sealed the deal for me.

I read her essays and books by other Objectivists, so I believe I didn't miss much of the philosophy.

I strongly recommend this version instead. It's broken down into shorter segments, but it's a dramatization, with visuals to go along with the text. It's much more powerful that way, and not as likely to put you to sleep. It also starts a few moments earlier in the book, so you get to see Mr. Thompson. :D
Highly, highly recommended. Whoever did this put a ton of work into it.
