Robo-calls in Iowa today accuse presidential candidate Newt Gingrich of having “an anti-gun record.” the pre-recorded meassage says paul and bachmann are pro-gun. calls paid for by the National Association for Gun Rights and IowaGunOwners.org. :D

scripts: “Attention gun owners. This is an important alert on Newt Gingrich.

With the Iowa caucuses just weeks away, Gingrich still refuses to answer to the Iowa Gun Owners presidential gun rights survey.

What is he hiding? Congressman Paul and Congresswoman Bachmann have completed their survey 100 percent correct.

Yet Speaker Gingrich still refuses. Why?

Maybe it’s because of his record. You see as speaker, Newt supported the anti-gun Brady Bill that created a national gun registry.

Newt also supported the Lautenberg law that takes away gun rights for crimes as simple as striking your child.

In fact he even he wants to mandate a thumb print scan for all gun owners.

So please take a moment to Newt’s office today at (515) 468-9225 and ask them what Newt is hiding.

That number again is (515) 468-9225.

Tell Newt that you could never trust a candidate that refuses to answer a simple survey especially when his anti-gun record is so well known. That number is (515) 468-9225.

This call paid for by the National Association for Gun Rights and IowaGunOwners.org.”

Newt also supported the Lautenberg law that takes away gun rights for crimes as simple as striking your child.

This seems a dubious argument. Some people might even support it!

The globalist Newt reptile is certainly anti-gun, but there are a lot of other reasons that might have worked better.

Such as those terrorist RP supporters should not be allowed to have guns. Or people who speak against their government. Or people with missing digits. Or people who store food. :D

Still, if it gets the job done, then good.

It is a gun lobby, not the campaign who put it on.

Were these robocalls affiliated with RP's campaign or us grassroots, or were these 3rd party ads?

Wonder if theres some way we could partner with these guys. Everyone's tight on cash but even if they knew that they've got our support, it might be encouraging.

The NRA can take care of it. They appear at all the gun shows and they are very involved in the political process.

Dr. Paul supporters' time would be better spend calling from home to identify caucus goers - win the election.

The NRA wont do shit. They have really sold out in the last couple years. Someone like GOA or the group that put out the robocall can do good though.

Why not do both? Set up some lap tops behind the table and have several people rotate between doing calls and speaking to gun owners.

I disagree with your crude reply. I've been to plenty of gun shows and the NRA is there with political material. They produce "No Obama" stickers, lots of things. They are VERY politically motivated. Why would you say they don't do anything? I've seen them in action with my own eyes.

The NRA was actually founded as a way to help gun control pass the legislature.

You need to see the NRA's history: http://nrawol.net/

NAGR is a good group. It's like the political action wing of GOA. Good stuff.

vechorik, I used to believe like you do about the NRA. But, if you watch closely, they oftentimes are very supportive of gun control legislation, when another group like Gun Owners of America, is not.

Maybe I'm not up to speed -- just going by what I see -- and anti-Obama sticker looks good to me, no matter the reason behind it.
If the NRA does a "No Newt" then fine -- we deal with the NRA background plans as they comes up.

Regardless, instead of attending gun shows, I think the "calls from home" would be more beneficial.

We need to target those 2nd amendment voters. Ron is the best on the issue out of the bunch and there are people that solely vote on that issue.
