Iowa Republican Governor Terry Branstad applauded Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul’s campaigning efforts in his state on Thursday, adding that he believes former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has a good chance at winning the Iowa caucus in January.
“Ron Paul has got probably the best organization and has a very loyal following. He’s got more yard signs and bumper stickers than anybody else,” Mr. Branstad said Thursday in an interview from the Republican Governors Association annual meeting in Orlando.
“I don’t think he’ll win, but I think he will get 15 to 18 percent. The person who wins is going to probably get 25 percent plus,” the Iowa governor added.
