This book is a photographic biography of Mr Jean-Marie Le Pen, President of the Front National, a candidate for the French presidential elections, edited by his daughter, Mme Yann-Marechal Le Pen. It is also a symbol, paying homage to this exceptional patriot of his fatherland, whose only crime was to say the truth in a time of universal deceit and what people think deep down inside and do not dare say out loud, and is also a memoir for the tens of thousands of followers of Mr Le Pen and the FN, who have refused to silence their beliefs, and honors their patriotism, their sense of duty and strength of character.

The book begins with an introduction by one of Mr Le Pen’s long time friends, Mr Roger Holeindre, a resistant against the Germans during WWII, a man who fought for the free world against communism, a long time member of the Front National and one of the 5 Vice-Presidents of the FN. It then goes on to Mr Le Pen’s youth, where, as a poujadist, he was elected as the youngest deputy in French history in the National Assembly, where he organized at his university volunteer relief work for the floods in the Netherlands, and where he fought with the French Army, with the Foreign Legion and the 10th Parachute-Division, in Indochina and Algeria, then ran the 1965 presidential campaign of Jean-Louis Tixier-Vignacour.

The main part, from page 60 onwards, covers his leadership and political career in the Front National, which he founded on 5 October 1972, bringing together all the patriotic forces in France, instead of leaving them in splintered groups fighting each other, as Mr Jean-Francois Chiappe said, quoted on page 60. There is coverage of the terrorist bomb attack against Mr Le Pen’s home in 1976, violence against members of the FN and Mr Le Pen, his proposal for a minute of silence for the tens of millions of victims of communism and those still in the Gulags in front of 15 million TV viewers on the ‘L’Heure de verite’ program on 13 February 1983, his political rallies and his success in French elections, such as gaining 11% in the 1984 European elections, 2760880 votes and 35 seats in the National Assembly in the 1986 legislative elections, 14.4% in the 1988 presidential elections, 15% in the 1995 presidential elections. There is refuting of the hateful slanders against him, where he explains that he is not a xenophobe, but a Francophile – he prefers government support, national preference, for those with French citizenship over those without , and he is not an anti-semite – he addresses Frenchmen of all religions, and he is for national preference for Jewish Frenchmen as well.

There is a very interesting section from page 112 to 130 where there are photographs of Mr Le Pen meeting famous politicians and people such as Mr Gianfranco Fini of the Italian MSI, later the Alleanza Nazionale, US President Ronald Reagan, Pope John-Paul II who told Mr Le Pen that he must fight against the ‘culture of death’ and the ‘decline of Europe’, Filipino President Corry Aquino, Japanese Prime-Minister Nakasone, US Black Civil Rights leader Walter Fauntroy, various African heads of state, former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, from whom he secured the release of European hostages in 1990 and even former French President Jacques Chirac. These photographs reflect badly on Mr Fini and Mr Chirac as hypocritical, considering that Mr Fini attacked Mr Le Pen in 2002 as ‘crude’ when he got into the second round of the French presidential elections and that Mr Chirac refused to debate with Mr Le Pen on TV in 2002 when it was the norm for the 2 finalists to do so. Mr Le Pen’s support from and friendship with famous actors and personalities such as Mrs Brigitte Bardot, Mr Alain Delon and Mr Alain Prost.

Pages 132 to 167 cover various aspects of Mr Le Pen’s life, such as his family, him doing sports, his relationships with animals, and an interview with Mrs Jany Le Pen, Mr Le Pen’s wife, where she discusses things such as what music they prefer, eg classic to Madonna and Mr Michael Jackson.

The last pages onward from page 168 to 179 cover the material for Mr Le Pen’s 2002 Presidential campaign, and his afterward. This book was published in September 2001 in anticipation for the 2002 Presidential elections, where Mr Le Pen defeated the Socialist Prime Minister, Mr Lionel Jospin, and became a finalist in the 2 round elections against Mr Chirac, winning the backing of 6 million Frenchmen, 18% of the vote, shoving the many plans of the forces of decadence back into their face. The Front National is not only a model for other similar nationalist parties in Europe – it is also a model for America and Australia, as well as for any patriot in any country who wishes to fight against the decline of their country.

The book is large format, with a card cover and nice paper quality. Most of the photographs are in color and are not the ones that you would normally see when you search on the internet, news agencies and the various FN websites. Throughout there are quotes and contributions from Mr Le Pen’s friends and historians on him and the FN. Some are large page sized, and some are double page-spreads. Contributors to the book are –

Jean-Baptise Biaggi, Jean Bourdier, Yves Daoudal, Roger Holeindre, Alain Jamet, Marine Le Pen, Samuel Marechal, Philippe Rouger, Gilles Arnaud, Guy Borg, Franck Landouch, Pierre Querrec, Nicolas Weber, Jany Le Pen and Jean-Marie Le Pen.

In his afterward named ‘Without Hatred, but without fear, without remorse and without repentance’ Mr Le Pen concluded the book with stirring words that would move any patriot –

”France is in a bad state, much worse than it seems. Our country is on the edge of a decline that could rapidly drive it to its disappearance. the French people, who are brainwashed by the media, don’t even know it, although many of them have a fear about it.

To avoid terrible hardship, the country must react as soon as possible. The truth must help this nation to rediscover and set off again in the 21st century on the glorious route which it had followed for centuries.

Without hate, but without fear, without remorse and without repentance, each of us must now act without building castles in the sky, while keeping our eyes fixed on the end of the furrow like our ancestors in order to do what needs to be done. When the hour of the battle arrives, you close ranks and go to battle, and as Joan of Arc said: "God gives victory."

For political movements as for men, reaching the age of thirty years symbolizes the end of enthusiastic and naive youth and introduces the age of maturity, responsibility and fulfillment. We have the opportunity to once again put the national movement, of which the Front National is the spearhead and backbone, on a straight line to victory.

The Battle of France has already begun. It is a battle of liberation, which must be won so that tomorrow, France can continue to be French. To those who dream of the future, I say : "The future is now!"
