View Full Version : How will Rush Limbaugh react to Newt ad?

The campaign seem so deliberate it what it does. It chose to put Rush in there for a reason ... and I don't think it was only to get mainstream GOP listening more closely. I think he's trying to get Rush to react in a certain way for a certain purpose.

Thoughts? guesses?

I don't think he'd mind. He's not a Newt fan.

I think it will get a lot of airtime on Limbaugh.

yes I almost forgot about the Rush snippet. He will bring it up and go one of two directions. 1. Agree with what he said in the video, but diss the rest of the ad, or 2. go completely off the handle for being "used" in the video and trash RP's tactics

I think he'll like it. After all, he loves to accuse Ron of "stealing" his material. What better than to actually use him in a campaign vid? lol

I'm guessing that getting Rush to be on the same page would get through to some ears in Iowa that otherwise may not hear what Ron is saying.

I'm confused here. We went from Newt to Ron in under 60 seconds.

Well, the thread is about Ron Paul's ad about Newt, if I'm not mistaken.

Wouldn't they need his permission to use those clips prior to the ad being run?

Actually he likes Newt. He just didn't like him during the Paul Ryan plan.

Exactly! I'm not a listener to the guy. But, I presume many of those who will note in Iowa are. From what I've read, it sounds like Rush doesn't like to give Ron positive air time. So, with him being so prominent in this ad, I'm curious how Rush will handle it and if it will force him to devote some positive exposure to Ron.

You may have to go over a certain threshold of time before you need permission.

Rush going on about how printing money to prop up insolvent banking systems won't work - it's not production of real wealth. Yet this guy praises Perry, Cain, and Newt who all support money-printing to prop up insolvent banking systems. Is this guy a moron or a knowing hypocrite? Talk about serial hypocrisy. No mention of the Gingrich ad yet.

No mention of Ron at all. He probably doesn't want to bring attention to it. I'm going to stop listening now. Going back to Radio Santa Claus.

That's probably the worst possible result. (Referring to the 'no mention.' Feel free to go back to Radio Santa Clause!)

Actually the worst response is him attacking Ron. His silence on the issue means he isn't going to bother refuting it.

And if everyone else would, then I'd end up getting a lot more done with my day.

How will Rush Limbaugh's handlers tell Rush Limbaugh how to react to Newt ad?

Corrected.

Just watch the likes of Fox News and CNN. His handlers are also handling them.

He has spent the lst week or so talking about, defending Herman Cain. Do not expect much from Limbaugh on this ad.

Via RCP (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/11/30/ron_paul_republican_candidates_just_represent_the_ status_quo.html), where another comment thread on our man was closed:

Paul once again wouldn't rule out a third party run if he does not get the Republican nomination. However, Paul said it was very unlikely, describing the chances as 1 in 20 million.

Im not surprised that Rush would ignore it. His audience is large and him bringing it up gives the ad a lot more hits and damages Newt even more (not to mention it reminds voters of how flipfloppy Romney is too). The inclusion of Rush in the ad itself gives it more credibility with the right instead of a bunch of clips of MSNBC talking heads.
