Article gives an entire rationale for why 'Ron Paul's campaign' is doing this, too.

Be careful with Comment Is Free. It's basically just reader blogs. There's a ton of awfully stupid things written there.

Who is this tool of a reporter? LOL!

edit, no, if you click on the author's name, it says:
Paul Harris is a US correspondent for the Guardian and Observer

I'm happy for his spreading it around, anyhow.

I like the flip flops at the end. I tend to refer to mitt as Flip Flopney.

WOOT!! Business Insider picked it up too! And correctly attributes it as 'a Ron Paul supporter made the attack ad Ron Paul wont'!!

http://www.businessinsider.com/ron-paul-supporter-makes-the-attack-ad-the-ron-paul-campaign-wont-2011-11

A Ron Paul supporter on YouTube has made a devastating attack-ad aimed at Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney.

Paul doesn't normally attack his opponents, instead he counts on his ideas and record speaking for themselves.

Paul ventured one attack in a debate this summer. When asked what he thought of Rick Perry's record on taxes, Paul said, "I’m a taxpayer there [in Texas]. My taxes have gone up… I would put a little damper on this, but I don’t want to offend the governor... he might raise my taxes or something!” It was a pretty devastating line, delivered guilelessly.

But it is precisely an ad like this, that shows Paul being more faithful to Republican positions than other front-runners, that could put him over the top in Iowa, where he currently polls second.

They're easy to confuse because it's very unusual for candidates to have such dedicated supporters that go out of their way to make videos for them.

Mitt and Newt Muppets << Correct. So what's the problem?

Oh! They left Perry out! OK, that's a problem that needs to be fixed.

there is one part of the video that wasn't really good.

Did anyone contact the reporter of the Guardian piece and correct him that the video wasn't produced by the campaign, but by an independent supporter? His criticisms of Ron Paul and the campaign are either misplaced or "lacking integrity".

sailingaway

I didn't see criticisms, I thought it was positive. I did comment that it was a supporter piece, though, as had others.

...
Let's get the obvious thing over with first. Just when you are ready to accept Paul's campaign is going to shed its candidate's reputation for being a little wacky, they set an entire two-minute campaign ad to a famous song from the Muppets. Yes, the background to the entire thing is the "Mahna Mahnam" song. Thanks, Ron.
...
Again, just when you think Paul is hitting his stride, he does something weird. Which sums up this ad. ...

He called out Ron and the campaign as being wacky and weird - playing into the "kook" theme that dominated the 2007/2008 campaign. $.02

Hrm. The video linked to by both The Guardian and Business Insider is a rip of the original uploaded for someone else. I feel sorry for "ClackForRonPaul". Here's the original upload:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1RKPfMqGOg&list=FLdlDIL1H992kb-4G_Zz2RLQ&index=2&feature=plpp_video

It already has 6k views. I'm worried that the magazines/newspapers linking to the copy will only dilute the originals views/favs and make it harder for it to get honors on youtube and go viral.

I saw this. Good for you Clack. I've been brawling with Gaurdian Readers for years on that site. The CIF section is filled to the brim with big statists types but there are also some pretty witty and sharp commentary at times. Before CIF (Comment is Free) they used to have a talk board that was a little more humane but it's still a good place to go and argue politics with an international bent.

I didn't see that. I thought it ended at the video. I did comment about it not being Ron's though.

Haha the music in the video is what really makes it great. Helps to show us how kooky these two guys are, not Ron.

Didn't see anything about Muppets though.

Congratulations for the great video. I have two comments:

1. In the part about Global Warming, I can't hear what Newt is saying in the first part. Maybe it's just me?
2. I don't think Romney saying that finding scapegoats is not good contradicts being in favor of the middle class. Romney is obviously not for the middle class, but that particular clip doesn't prove it

+rep!

If you can find where Gingrich said in an interview that he didn't like the idea of TARP but if he were in Congress he would vote for it, just before the vote, I'd recommend adding that, if you make changes. Michelle Malkin wrote about it and I posted it in Opposing Candidates.

Wonderful video, though!!

Here is the link that discusses Gingrich's flip on TARP if that helps you find footage. I'll keep an eye out for it as well, or I guess it could be text. IF you end up editing the video.

Do not use quotes. Text doesn't have the impact as actual video footage or audio. It will just interrupt the pacing of the video.

well, I think his being in favor of TARP is huge. I hope we can come up with audio or video. Personally, I'd put it in with whatever I had.
