Based on this information and recent polling data, one would expect Paul to beat Romney in the following counties: Jefferson, Davis, Osceola, Pocahontas, Van Buren, Mitchell, Allamakee, Calhoun, Keokuk, Greene, Franklin, Grundy, Monroe, Washington, Hancock, Appanoose, Guthrie, Henry, Wapello, Mahaska, Clarke, Story, Madison, Benton, Boone, Union, O'Brien, Cerro Gordo, Ringgold, Wayne, Johnson, Iowa, Warren, Clayton, Howard, Winnebago, Lucas, Jackson, Lee, Wright, Marion, Fremont, Hardin, and Sioux. Assuming that a)Conservatives (those that voted Huck or Thompson in 08) do not coalesce around Paul and b)Any eventual conservative heir will lose ~20% of the vote to second-tier candidates, then Paul can reasonably expect to win Jefferson, Osceola, Pocahontas, Van Buren, Mitchell, Allamakee, Greene, Johnson, Clayton, and Jackson. Of course, this assumes that current poll numbers are correct and stay the same.

how are votes appropriated in Iowa? is it just overall %? or does it matter how many counties are won?
