The reason I ask is because, it seems like Iowa is becoming more and more important.

If Ron Paul win's iowa, Everybody who likes him but thinks "he can't win" will have some serious rethinking to do.

If there are 300,000 supercaucusers in Iowa, wouldn't it make sense to put more of RevolutionPac's bags in that basket since we've all got limited funds?

Just wondered.

Less than 100,000 people caucused in the 2008 GOP Iowa Caucus, so I assume 100,000 is sufficient

???
Then how are there 100,000 supervoters?
Supervoters voted in 2008 and 2010.

But I do agree with the original poster. I think it is far better strategy to double down on Iowa and win it than to spread evenly between IA and NH and end up 2nd in both.

RevPAC sent out an email about there being more super voters:

When the Supervoter Bomb project was first launched on November 16, we were only aware of 100,000 Supervoters in Iowa. We have recently been made aware there are actual many more, up to 295,000 in total. We have to reach as many as possible, and with enough support we can reach them all. We're so close but not quite there.

It's unlikely the grassroots will raise enough to cover 295,000 people before Nov 1st. I hope they use some big donor money to cover it.

A supervoter voted in both 2008 and 2010.
120,000 voted in the 08 Iowa Caucus.
295,000 Iowa supervoters total.
What am I missing?

Local and state primaries?

They are ending the supervoterbomb on Sunday.

Maybe they are targeting Dem supervoters too? I'm also confused.

That's a shame. I think they should just keep it going because even if they don't make it by Sunday I'm sure they could make it by early December.

this is confusing.
Should only be going to people who will actually caucus.

We need to fund the Super Voter Bomb now! Once that project is complete we need to fund Ron Paul Products precinct mailings to Iowa.

Why are they doing that?

At rate we're going we're not even going to hit 100k by Sunday at 11:59. I thought we're going to have until December 1st. Are they just going to mail everything this Monday? Why don't they just mail every 30,000k they get at a time? I don't get the strategy here. Is this including NH or will NH still be going and they're just ending the Iowa portion? I'm baffled.

There have been a lot of questions directed at RevPac in the last couple of days regarding this project. They need monitor this forum a little more often.

I'd argue that some money should be spent on getting those people who are not "supervoters" to the caucus.

I dont think supervoters particularly appreciate Ron Paul. Who really likes Ron Paul are 18-29 males. I'm not sure what we're doing to get those 18-29 males to the polls. I don't know if we have the names addresses phone numbers of all 18-29 males.

Supervoter mail is not a bad idea though. It's certainly productive activity.

there are 20K+ males in high school right now who can caucus, for example.

It makes no sense to end it. First, they should be mailing out the packets as soon as money is donated. No sense in waiting. Second, the SuperVoterBomb should continue until all $200,000 is raised. If the first $100,000 for IA is not raised by the middle of December, then just switch to NH at that point. At the rate we are going, though, we should hit the first $100,000 by then.

Yes I second that. $200,000 will be raised sooner or later, my guess by mid December. Why not continue until it's all raised? In fact, the closer you send them to the primary, the more impact it will have anyway.

this might be a false scarcity tactic? Tryin' to get fence-setters to jump in and donate and then send out a message along the lines of "because of overwhelming support we've decided to extend the deadline 2 weeks."

Dunno, just a guess.

Has anyone determined whether the official campaign is or was planning on sending out targeted direct mail based on the results they were getting from the phone from home / voter ID programs?

I don't think anyone outside of the official campaign can confirm that, but my understanding is that has always been the plan. Why would be collecting the information if the campaign wasn't going to use it?

Hopefully we have enough manpower in Iowa over Xmas break to canvass every man, woman, and adolescent 18 and older in Iowa.

If a supervoter is someone voting in 08 and 10, if only 120K voted in 2008, how can the supervoter possibly be over 120K??? It would only be 120K if everyone in 2010 voted in 2008. therefore the number would have to be lower

Rev Pac seems like the organization can already reach the 100k or so supervoters in Iowa without the dvd. Please forget about trying to donate or mail to the 295k voters in Iowa. Why all know that almost 300k are not going to Iowa Caucus in early January. So, why not mail out the letter/brochure to Iowa Supervoters within the next two weeks or so and start focusing on NH Supervoters? If we can mail out between 140-155k people now, let us go ahead and complete the project. Why not start mailing to the 40-55k supervoters in NH by the third week in December? Rev Pac should not wait til late December to mail out to Iowa and NH supervoters.

Why would they be able to mail out the packets as soon as the money is donated? It takes time to print brochures and DVDs.
