KINSTON, N.C. --

An incident involving pepper spray used at a Walmart in Kinston during Black Friday is under investigation.

Authorities say the off-duty officer was hired by the store to help with security and was trying to subdue a disturbance and make an arrest when he used his pepper spray.

A customer told WITN people were standing in line waiting for cell phones when a man fell onto a display. She says security thought there was a fight. The customer says about 20 people, including children, were affected by the pepper spray.

No further details were made available by police.

I'll never forget, a few years ok I was at walmart standing in line, and the woman at the front of the line threatened to come back an kill the people in customer service because they would not take her return. She was loudly calling them motherfuckers and other not so nice names. And to top it off, she had 2 kids about 2 and 4 years old with her.

This happened 3 miles from where I sit now earlier this year during Spring Break. Turned out this woman had a bunch o' kids as well. Video also proves that when you are out and about-it is you that is responsible for your defense.:
