Who's the extremists? The press provides covers for the democrats like no other. Yes, the two party system sucks, but the dems are the preferred royal class.

To some degree that is reflective of where politics in the country has gone. There are fewer "moderates" in the voting population as well. The country is practically split in two - free market vs. socialist.

Both parties have moved more towards the extremes. While the headline suggests that it is only liberal ideology growing, that is not what the report is saying. What it does say is that moderates (on both sides) have greatly declined. Party extremism has risen. Republicans and Democrats alike. As for which ideology is in assendency, since 1993, Repulicans have controlled the House for 14 of those years and the Senate for ten and the Presidency eight. And that includes the Republicans recently taking back the House.
