As people keep questioning Dr. Paul on whether he would support any of the other candidates if they became the nominee, I had not heard his answer on this before. Excellent response on Cavuto's interview:

Yeah that was a brilliant nugget of truth and wisdom coming from Ron Paul that I have not heard before and I've been around a long time. Very cool.

First time I heard him say it that way - speaks right to the heart of middle-America - principles over party-politics, excellent!

Someone should just edit out the section where he talks about loyalty to the constitution and to the oath of office above party loyalty and just keep that as a nice response to those that criticize his lack of loyalty to the GOP. Classic.

I loved his answer.

Anyone who owes more loyalty to a political party than one's country, their home, their family, is truly a socialist.

Look at the way Communists, Nazis and Fascists gave their loyalty to "the party". It's incredibly dangerous.

American political parties were never designed to be this way. They are as RP says they are "vehicles to get elected". They are coalitions of persons working together to advance a few common goals by winning office, no more, no less.

Ron Paul is right on when he says this.

What's amazing is that when communicates a thought like this, it is so obvious that he is simply articulating something he believes, not thinking up an answer to the question. These early debates are so difficult for Dr. Paul, because they are just series of sound bites designed for today's media consumers, and reveal little to nothing about the actual beliefs and philosophies of the candidates, instead focusing on popular issues. Dr. Paul has so much more depth than anyone else up there, that it is difficult for him to condense what he knows down into a 30 second sound bite. If he can remain in the top tier through these early primaries when the bulk of the field will begin to fall away, and get into some TRUE debates where he can really expound on his ideals and principles, it will be quite an education for the American people. I don't think he would be considered so "fringe" anymore.
