Just speculation. The Fed doesn't do anything without signalling in advance and so far they have given no indication they intend to do any further easing at this time. Two trillion would be massive- that would more than double their current Treasury holdings (which currently total $1.6 trillion) so I doubt it would be anything like that. They will certainly continue to monitor things. Their stimulus efforts so far have had little to no impact. Trying to lower interest rates from their already incredibly low levels would not do much at all for the economy since they aren't helping now. This is another reason I question the idea of a $2 trillion stimulus buying spree by the Fed.
