View Full Version : "This Week" panel: Watch out for Ron Paul in Iowa

Texas Republican Rep. Ron Paul, once considered a fringe candidate, is not only rising in the polls to challenge those considered GOP presidential frontrunners, but is now being taken seriously as a threat in Iowa and New Hampshire by some members of the so-called Washington establishment.

During the “Roundtable” segment of ABC’s “This Week” Sunday, panelists Matthew Dowd, a former campaign strategist for President George W. Bush, and Peggy Noonan, Wall Street Journal columnist and former Reagan speechwriter, explained why Paul is a legitimate contender.

“The other thing I think Christiane to watch is Ron Paul. Ron Paul is right now, he’s second in Iowa,” Dowd said. “He’s second in New Hampshire. And of the people in top tier, he has the most passion behind his candidacy. I would not be surprised at all seven weeks from now that Ron Paul wins the Iowa caucuses and goes into New Hampshire, disrupts this field even more.”

Noonan said a Paul win in Iowa would provide the candidate significant momentum going into the New Hampshire primary.

In other ABC THIS WEEK news... ABC has suspended compensated pundits Matthew Dowd and Peggy Noonan for unapproved mentioning and positive comments about presidential GOP candidate, Ron Paul. ;)

Reporting that POS ABC Political Director Mr. Amy Walter blew an ass gasket yelling so hard into their earbuds to "Shut Up".

Winning Iowa and New Hampshire would create so much fundraising, and enthusiasm, and people who like Ron Paul but didn't vote for him because he "couldn't win" would vote for him, and the domino effect would be unstoppable.

These pundits know that IA and NH both would be the nomination.
And we know it.
Who cares that they used the word "disruption"

Umm Noonan called Paul disruptive. How is that a positive comment?

Because if you have a bunch of fascists conspiring together over dinner to maintain power and Ron Paul busts down their front door, eats all their Filet Mignon, and then flips their dinner table over and walks out, that's quite disruptive. ; )

The disruptive word didn't bother me so much..I took it as a way to describe the ever-churning nature of the GOP roster.

I didn't like the stuff at the end, though, about him running third party.

George Will had such nice things to say about RP four years ago. Now that he actually has a chance to win? Will bashes him every chance he gets in not so subtle ways. What gives?

He tried to derail Pat Buchanan's candidacy when he was running as well. I suppose he only likes establishment candidates.
