I'm curious to hear from those in the know how much Doug Wead is helping this campaign, with all the experience he's had in the past. Do you believe Rand's successful Senate run has given Jesse Benton the needed experience to help Ron? I'd love to know how things are being handled in 2011 as compared to 2007.

I see his influence in every debate. Compare video of 2007 debate performances with those from the last several and I think you'll see what I mean.

His profession is networking, and he still has a lot of contacts in the evangelical groups from when he built that base for GHW. He is the man for Iowa. He has helped Ron to an extent with debates.

Jesse has been almost flawless. The campaign is being run so much better than in '07.

I feel like Ron' articulation is worse than 08 to be honest. He just seems older IMO

People tend to age.

Agreed. Unfortunately I think it is much worse.

He's genuine. When you put him on the stage with all the slick liars the contrast is amazing. People notice that.

Yes, he does have the honest thing going for him. I wish the debates were more sit down style discussions he does much better there.

Romney, Perry, Cain and Gingrich do not give off an honest vibe at all. It's very obvious when they lie. The rest I believe are honest. Even if I don't agree with them, I believe they tell the truth.

I really don't think it's that big of a deal. Ron is like your wise grandfather. Lots of people like that.

I dont think its a big deal either. Wise grandfather is better than the "crazy uncle" label they place on him

I dunno, yes he's older and seems more tired at times, but then outta nowhere he explodes with energy - for example at the Aimes staw poll. Ron's given some amazing performances at debates and interviews, far better than in 07. He may be getting older, but he's sharper than ever and has shown great capacity to continue learning and adapt on the fly.

I think Ron has a whole is campaigning harder than he was in 2007.

I agree. Ron's had some highlights this year, but nothing approaching the minute long foreign policy smackdown that centered around borrowing money from China to support dictators in Pakistan and promoting democracy in Iraq.

Yep. I don't think he expected to be able to win in 2007. I think he just wanted to get his (wonderful) message out. Mission accomplished, because ever since 2008, we've all been badgering him to run this year, and here he is :)

He's running for us. Thank you Dr. Paul, thank you so much.

He's chairing a subcommittee, having briefings for the campaign, and feeling the weight of a serious campaign and its responsibilities. It's now more than getting the message out.
Someday, poets and historians will look back and say this OB/GYN was willing to give his career and comfort to deliver a newborn Liberty from an ailing motherland.
