View Full Version : How foreigners can help?

Hello everyone,

I'm a Norwegian strongly inspired by Ron Paul. I supported him in 2007, and I support him now. My question is if you can think of anything that foreigners like me can do to support Ron Paul, aside from arguing in his favor on U.S. discussion forums and generally "spreading the word." In example, are there any pro-Paul political organizations that foreigners can legally donate to?

Thanks.

It's awesome that so many people in other countries support Ron Paul! There's a lot you guys can do to help!
Here's a few:
1. Become part of the Ron Paul Phone From Home project. Basically, you call people up from important states like Iowa or New Hampshire, and you ask them a few questions like you would see from any polling agency. This helps us get valuable information from these voters and supply them with relevant information.
To become a part of it check out these sites: http://www.facebook.com/groups/phonefromhome/ and http://phone.ronpaul2012.com/v/login.php?return_url=%2Fv%2F

2. (I believe foreigners can do this) Unlimited donations are accepted at Revolution Pac, they are working on a project right now to give 100,000 "Super Voters" (people who voted in the 2008 and 2010 primaries) in Iowa and New Hampshire a copy of "For Liberty" (the Ron Paul dvd), the Ron Paul "Super Brochure" (8 pages of Ron Paul goodness), and a personalized letter from Historian Tom Woods.
To donate follow this link: http://supervoterbomb.com/

3. Spread the message to other people about these two top priorities! They are how we win! Donate to Ron Paul's official campaign, to specific "chip-in" projects here on Ron Paul Forums, to Revolution Pac.

"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brushfires in people's minds" ~ Samuel Adams

Um. I am not a lawyer, but I don't know that anything on this list qualifies...

1. Can foreigners make contributions of pure labor? I don't know. The registration forms for volunteering and phone banking assume a U.S. address...
2. Revolution PAC can only legally accept donations from U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents.
3. Again, Revolution PAC and the official campaign cannot accept donations from foreign nationals residing abroad.

Aside from during their own thing as the OP mentions, surely foreign nationals abroad can chip in to projects in the cause of liberty that are not associated with the presidential campaign. And the phone banking suggestion is interesting...

Yes, pure labour should be allowed. I've been doing the phone from home program.

You cannot donate to rev PAC if you're not a citizen or permanent resident.

There are, however, many grassroots efforts you can donate to. For example there's a chip in to put Ron Paul ads in Iowa magazines. Just do a quick search and you'll find it.

Correct, RevPAC is not allowed to accept foreign donations. You can contribute your time (Phone-From-Home), and you can contribute to projects that do not directly influence a US Election. (You can pay for a volunteer's expenses that could be considered unrelated.)

I am currently trying to get gas money for a trip to Iowa by selling stuff on ebay. Since this is viewed as a purchase, it too is allowable by all. (http://www.ebay.com/itm/290629430207?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649)

I think it's great even foreigners like RP. I don't think I've seen foreign support for any other candidates.

Obama got a lot of European support, sadly.

He's not a candidate. He's the incumbent.

I would hang out on these sites and donate to the various chip ins. Also use ronpaulproducts.com they got a way to pay themm to send super brochures to various republican voters in the early states. Sign bombs are good too go to nationalsignbomb.com. spread lberty videos and articles online, educate the world on freedom. This is bigger than ron paul or the US this is just the beginning of a world wide freedom movement. (A real one this time)

Can foreigners buy advertising in the U.S.? I have wondered why many nations wouldn't contribute literally billions to advertise for Ron Paul, since he would open up trade for them and not bomb them.

Not that I know an answer to that, but I think it wouldn´t make sense for US legislators to allow a foreigner or a foreign institution to do political ads.
Additionally, I see a practical problem:
There are probably only very few foreign individuals who can afford to buy an ad on their own. TV ads cost 100000+ $, right? So one would have to organize some kind of grassroots fundraising. I´m sure the FEC would step in and try to stop such efforts. After all, we´re not Deutsche Bank holding a fundraiser for Mitt Romney in London: http://www.boston.com/Boston/politicalintelligence/2011/06/romney-heading-london-for-fund-raiser/GCLaFTBsVl6uue99bWksKL/index.html

No, but we can definitely chip in to grassroots efforts to buy ad space.

Our RP group makes signs for sign bombing it up in California, we've shipped 3 bomb packages out so far for free to other paul supporters in 3 states so far. We also do tabeling events, grassroots style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLctpUgjI14 , Let me just say, to be safe, if someone, anyone, wanted to buy our group members lunch, just for the heck of it, that money we would have otherwise spent on lunch would be avaliable for us to make more signs, rent more booths, and bring our message to more American voters'.

If a friend bought me lunch, i'd have more money to make signs like these ones' we made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VTLXvbMoQ8 , in the YouTube video, there is actually a donation link!!!

We're really, really hungry for Freedom Burgers!!!!
