I can't BELIEVE how worked up the media and hence, their retarded readers, are getting over whether or not the supercommittee will actually come to an accord. WHO CARES? What difference does it make? The numbers they are talking about are meaningless in the scheme of this nation's debt. 1.2 trillion dollars in "savings" over 10 years? REALLY? Big deal. So we lop 200B off our 1.3 TRILLION dollar a year debt and THAT is SUCCESS? ???

Why don't people understand that they aren't even talking about cuts - but simply spending (a little) less on programs in the future. The cuts are meaningless and will have zero impact so what's the point?

The super committee is no different than the SOVIET CENTRAL COMMITTEE. Same function.

I care if it fails or not. I want very much for it to fail so they'll get rid of it's unconstitutional ass.

How can it succeed? Success would be defined as trimming (or creating enough in tax increases) to cut our deficit to 1.1 trillion dollars a year. By that very definition, it is designed to fail.

If they don't get an agreement, "automatic" "spending trimming" kicks in anyway, regardless, and it's the same $1.2T over ten years. The supercommittee was supposed to look for greater than 1.2T in cuts, since 1.2T was already built into the bill if supercommittee agreement wasn't reached.

Charade of a charade.

the super committee was set up to fail, as an excuse for a tax hike
