To get RP the 5% he needs to get on Dec. 4 Fox Debate in Iowa:

Assuming it has not already been done, the campaign needs to mail the several page booklet that was sent out to New Hampshire to registered Republicans in Iowa - like right now.

When this booklet was sent out in N.H., it was not soon after that RP was polling 7.4% in N.H.

This will greatly help RP get to 5% in Iowa if this is sent out to registered Iowa Republicans -- who are the ones who are polled, which in turn will get RP invited to the Dec. 4th Debate in Des Moines which is HUGE because a LOT of people across the country will be watching this debate since it is right before the primaries.

On top of that, some radio ads and phone bank work can only help. RP needs to improve in Iowa anyway, so the campaign might as well do this ASAP so he can get the 5% in Iowa for the Fox debate while also improving how well he does in the state.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.

Damn straight. Let's keep this bumped up so the campaign sees it.

The Iowa Caucus is only two months off so we need to improve in the state anyway. Because of the importance of any debate that close to the primaries, this needs to be done ASAP!

yeah - that's a really good point. They should.

Great idea. Don't know the cost but that is what money bombs are for.

Great idea. Don't know the cost but that is what money bombs are for.

We just gave them $4.3M yesterday!

If they want more, tell us and we will get it, but we need to get to 5% in Iowa by the end of the month to get invited to this debate. The best way to do that is advertising and the campaign has the resources now to do that quickly.

This needs to be targeted to Republicans, so that is why it needs to be a mailer and phone bank work. That N.H. booklet was awesome. A little radio, which is not so expensive, won't hurt.

Good idea! They have all the money they need now! It's time they pulled out all the stops in every early state, including Iowa! TV ads, radio ads, booklets!

how much does it cost to mail that to a single household?

On the front page of that pamphlet they should mention that 51% of Repbulicans in Iowa want the U.S. out of Iraq withing 6 months and that Ron Paul is the only Republican that is committed to doing that

I don't know if they have all the money they need, but I sure agree that they badly need to start hitting the early primary states and HARD.

We'll get them more money. Plus, the more people they get on-board by advertising and Dr. Paul campaigning, the more donors we will have helping us. :)

They've been running radio ads and there will be TV ads running from Nov. 15 through Dec. 5 thanks to the Operation NH group. But yes that booklet mailers is a wonderful idea.

They have MORE than enough money to send this awesome booklet out in Iowa, but they need to do it quickly.

RP needs more advertising in Iowa anyway, but getting invited to this debate is critical.

While Hew Hampshire is the key state for RP, it comes right after Iowa. If RP finsihes 5th in Iowa along the lines of how he did in the Iowa Starw Poll, it won't build momentun fo N.H. However, if he finishes 2nd or 3rd it will be big news.

This kills two birds with one stone.

I'd even give to a chip in that went through a PAC to send that out to Iowa, but maybe the campaign will just do it hehe.

Not so much that it can't be done.

I'm sure if the campaign asked for it, we could get the money to them but I think 4.3 mil says that they can afford to do this.

Whatever it takes. I have a contact at HQ I am going to email this thread to.

Not to flood them with emails, but if one or two people who have contacts would email this thread to the campaign just to let them know, that would be great.

Let them know we are willing to raise the money for this if need be.

Also, if anybody has other ideas on how to get Iowa to 5% plus, post 'em.

Bump for the campaign to see and for anybody to post any other ideas they have to make things happen in Iowa. I'm sure the Iowa MeetUps are on it - plastering the state with RP signs and writing leters-to-the-editor, but if anybody has any other ideas, please post.

I know everyone is like super excited about Nov 5th and everything, but this is very important. We need front runner status and front runners don't get excluded from debates. This needs to get done pronto. Maybe we can get a sticky or something?

Getting those in the hands of Iowa voters is crucial at this point.

Who can I email to order some of those? I will recieve the Republican Primary voter list for my state very soon and I want to target these people with a Ron Paul mailer. I have the people to hand them to every home...I just need materials.

This is an excellent idea.

HQ should not waste any time when they're now sitting on a pile of money that could be used for advertising.

Anyways, good advertising brings in more supporters, which brings in more money.

Mail and TV ads in Iowa are needed desperately NOW. Nobody here has heard of him, but so many people that I have mentioned him to like him. Most of the ones who like him don't think he has any chance of winning because they haven't heard of him. People who watch the news probably know who he is by now. But its time to target those who do not.

For anybody that hasn't seen the booklet yet, it is here:
http://www.ronpaul2008.com/get-involved/downloads/

Ideas besides TV/radio ads:

Put up billboards... lots of them. People do a lot of driving in Iowa.

Give Thanksgiving dinners to families in need. $1 million would probably pay for about 50,000 nice dinners for families. It would be all over the news, telling people how to receive their dinners. It would turn a lot of heads, and get over $1 million back in media attention. Distribution could be a problem because the population is pretty spread out, but it could be something as simple as $20 gift certificates to grocery stores.
