I can't get a donation to go through. Its acting just like it did for BTO for me - stuck at "your donation is being processed now".

Hoping this explains the pathetic ticker total...

I mailed my $110 check 2 days ago as I do not have a credit card. Hopefully it arrives and they count it today.

It may well. The ticker stuck for a long time last time or was it the time before? Anyhow, I don't want to donate until after midnight my time, because the time on my receipt is wrong (PST), but that may not make any difference...

Web issues perhaps? Figured we'd have the routine down by now. :p

At this rate we'll get like 50,000. Should have done 5th of november instead.

I do think the ticker kept moving last time though. But many had the same problem I'm having now.

Anyway, I ended up trying again that night, and later found out both actually went through even though I only got one confirmation email (for the second one). I let them keep both of course :D

Anyway, the same names have been showing on it for ten minutes now so I have to assume we aren't that pathetic and that its just broken.

Is the ticker frozen or are donations just not happening at this point? It's been at $382.92 for a while now.

No, it takes at least a decade to get a functional website that can handle some traffic. They've only had 5 years.

Delusional. Even the campaign knows they will not get much. The ticker tops out at 1.1 million. Now I'm thinking we will be lucky to hit 500k. :(

Usually takes my checks about 8 days from the time I put in the mail until the time they deposit it. However, I just sent my check a couple days ago, wasn't aiming for this moneybomb, just wanting to add to the November donations.

I just made mine, but we really didn't do a very good job of grassroots advertising on this one. Most of our supporters probably don't even know about it so stop singing to the choir here and start spreading the word

We had a really bad start, and I think a lot of it was because the website was down. I still don't know if my donation went through (no confirmation email).

Looks like donations are coming in at a decent pace now:

Nobody should be surprised if this thing fails. From the beginning I said we should have used the Bring Them Home theme instead because a money bomb is about energizing current supporters and getting them to donate. It's not about reaching out to new voters. Support Them Now just doesn't energize supporters. Besides the theme though, Gage, who made the website was very distant and wouldn't participate in any planning. I appreciate what he did for the website, but his lack of comunication was like a wall between the campaign and $4.2 million. I tried the best I could to get a pledge competition going on the main website, but I was ignored. About half of my PM's were not replied to. I spent two days creating banners and pledge widgets and none of them were put on the website like I asked. I was instead ignored and all my work went to waste. Despite the management and theme problems, I tried the best I could to get people involved in promotion, but every thread I created fell to the 2nd page with no posts in it. Over the last week I simply stopped caring because nobody else seemed to care. Only a couple chose to help out and I thank them. The rest of this forum allowed it to fail. I don't want to hear excuses about money bomb fatigue. If you have no money then there's absolutely no reason you couldn't have helped out with promotion. Hopefully this is a lesson learned so we can make Dec 16th even bigger than BTO.

I admittedly slacked off on the promotion end. I still donated though, of course.

So many of us went all-out promoting BTO for over 30 days. Over that period I only missed a couple days where I didn't spend at least an hour or two promoting. Many days it was like a second job, spending all evening after work. When I saw how many "supporters" refused to donate anything, I have to be honest and admit that it really discouraged me and quite frankly pissed me off.

I mean I donated over a week's salary, and was just disgusted at hearing people say that they "can't" give ONE DOLLAR. Do they not eat? Of course they can give a dollar. I'd say less than 1% of supporters legitimately cannot donate. The rest just didn't want to bad enough. It was just really discouraging.

But none of that is Ron's fault, so if anyone else felt like I did, I hope we won't let him down again. Hats off to Sentinelrv and anyone else who kept right on promoting after BTO.

I'm just looking forward to get back to work for Dec 16th...

You saw supporters that refused to donate?! Sheesh! I forced a few friends to donate their 'big wad' ($50 for them) to BTO because it was supposed to be huge. The effect was decidedly less awesome. Sad to hear that there are a lot of people that would not donate a dime. :(

^^^^All of this........^^^^^

I will be able to put a lot of time into the next money bomb. I consider this money bomb a success though because if feels like we just had BTO yesterday and we are still on pace to beat the Constitution Day bomb.

11-11-2011, 11:11 AM
There's no need for anyone to wait for Dec 16th, this moneybomb is ongoing and you can promote it now. Do it for Ron. I didn't like the theme either, but the campaign needs the money! Now! Not a month from now.

I was disappointed in BTO after how hard we worked, but I was way more disappointed in the people on this forum that totally ignored this moneybomb. Some people on the forum even very pointedly let it be known that they were boycotting this moneybomb. I question how much those people actually support Ron Paul, if they can undermine an effort to fundraise for the campaign.

A friend and fellow supporter here in Maine came up with an idea to donate $9 at 9pm. I like it.

Here's the Facebook event for it, he started:

While I understand your frustrations, your attitude against those who are broke is pathetic. Be thankful you have money to give instead of attacking those who don't.

I'm not attacking anyone. I said it was discouraging, and that it pissed me off. There are those who are literally broke, but I believe they are the minority of those who don't donate. I would never personally attack anyone for their personal decision to not help out, but I can't help if it is discouraging.
