Black Friday Info Handouts

Speaking of malls and Black Friday, didn't some folks get together back in '07 and hand out free coffee and Ron Paul materials to people standing in line in the pre-dawn hours on Black Friday? People standing in line for almost any reason are usually bored and would be good prospects.

So, I've got a couple of people to join in on this. Here are some tips/instructions.

We're basically going to be near the lines before the stores open on Black Friday. People are bored out of their minds, waiting on line, and will be receptive to reading.

Setup:


You want to be near a lot of traffic, but not get in the way. It might also be wise to call your mall/Walmart/etc. and ask if you may setup in advance. People should be able to see what your stand is about from in line.

Refreshments

You want to set up a base of operations, with free refreshments. This means if you can get a fold-up table, fit something on the back of a pickup truck, or whatever. Get some sort of table for this.

Anyways, as for refreshments:
-Coffee
-Tea
-Water Bottles

Materials: Water drums, Water Bottles, Styrofoam or Paper Cups, Teabags, Coffee Filter/Pot, Portable Water Heater, Coffee Creamer, Milk, Sugar, Stirrers.

You can fill the water heater with water from the drums, make coffee, let people make tea, etc. This will make your stand a hit with the ssleepy passerby, and it will get people to come check out what is going on. It will also build goodwill with the crowd. If they're after cheap stuff, they'll be happy to get some free stuff.

Please practice good food/drink safety and keep the area clean. Shouldn't be too hard with coffee, tea, and bottled water.

Optional: Video Station
If you have a laptop, an iPad, or a smartphone you can set up a little video station. Make sure to bring extra batteries, a backup, or a car adapter if you do so. Some people who have two of these devices will have one with a video looping in the background, and then use the other one to show individual voters videos on subjects they are interested in. You can even download some videos beforehand if you feel they're good to have.


Voter Registration & Party Switch Forms
Find your state here (http://www.bluerepublican.org/welcome-to-blue-republican/) and print out the forms to switch parties and to register to vote for the first time. If the forms are not self-mailing, then remember to bring lots of envelopes and stamps.

Lol. Once the doors open you get the hell out of the way. But people wait there for hours beforehand, and they're likely bored out of their minds, and willing to read anything you give them. Maybe even have a conversation, or research them on their phones.

You guys should also carry around a folder with you with printouts, including some articles about paul, statistics, charts, information on his positions and quotes. Some people might be receptive but need further convincing. If anyone needs any, I can give them some links.

1. You're not actually supposed to be standing IN the line.
2. This is BEFORE the actual opening, when people are waiting in line, bored out of their minds. Once the doors, there's not much left to do.

but most stores are opening at 9pm or even midnight... so not a lot of waiting like usual until 6am as in the past...

Well find when your stores are opening and plan accordingly. Go 2-3 hours before then.

People are camping outside of best buy NOW. They'll still be lining up everywhere, don't worry. For maximum saturation, be there about an hour prior to store opening and have a team with you. Work from both ends of the line, or break it ino smaller sections if it's a large crowd and you have enough helpers.

In 07, my group of friends/family distributed 6000 flyers, and 1000 free Ron Paul pens. We hit about 14 stores total. We didn't set up coffee stands or anything, just had stacks of lit and pockets full of pens and went up and down the lines while people were waiting. My goal wasn't to convert anyone on the spot--I wasn't sticking around to talk, I wanted to get flyers into as many hands as possible and then get to the next store.

I have a small group going out with brochures and pens again. The rest of the local meetup group decided a sign wave would be a better use of time, so they're doing that near a mall.

Paulitics thats great idea. People will defo have time to listen or read while standing waiting in line. i know im bored if im in a line even for 5mins.

Dont underestimate the ripple effect. Somebody you reach in that line might pass on their new knowledge to a best friend or neighbour.

Your spreading the message like RP has asked. Dont let any1 tell you different as they might be inactive keyboard cowboys. Your a warrior of Freedom & self sufficency.
