Thanks to everyone who helped make my recent article a huge success:

http://freeindependentsun.com/republic/yes-he-can-how-to-help-ron-paul-win-the-iowa-caucus-on-january-3rd-2012/

The traffic for the site is pushing my website beyond my monthly bandwidth, I will soon have to upgrade (I've been looking forward to this day for 2 years!!!).

I am extremely stoked and grateful to everyone who has supported my efforts.

Now I have a favor to ask. I need a Money Bomb!

I have a chip-in going for my website:

http://jaktober.chipin.com/the-free-independent-sun

I've made a few efforts to raise funds for my website/travels recently, due to my funds getting close to nil. I've gotten a few contributions from supporters, which was a great help. If I could get my chip-in fully funded ($2012) I'd be in position to make a huge effect the next few months.

I have plans for a month of activity in Florida, Boston (MA) and Phily (PA), and a stop in D.C. before heading back to California to make sure we finish the Primary off with a bang!

http://freeindependentsun.com/republic/ron-paul-road-warriortour-to-end-the-war-iowa-ankeny-des-moines-ames/

I need funds to do this all properly. I was hoping my Silver Savings (thanks Ron Paul for educating me on sound money!!!) would have lasted longer, but the road can get costly.

I thank you all for your support, and appreciate any contribution; $10, $5, even couch change would help!

Peace, Love and Liberty!

Jack

what type of hosting are you using? with all due respect... i've run the domain through siteanaltyics... and you're getting 300-1000 uniques a month. if that's pushing bandwidth.. well... i don't know. i understand that you have travel plans, but if you expect people to open their wallets for anything but the official campaign in this environment, you're going to have to be more specific about those plans.

i find it extremely hard to believe that the amount of traffic that site gets is causing an overrun on a paid host. just saying objectively. i have no stake in anything and don't want to offend anybody.. the numbers just don't add up.

that said if you submit a detailed idea of what the travel is going to entail and what expenses you intend to incur, the people can make a decision whether or not it's worth their money.

I received 7,000 UVs last month, and 2,700 visits yesterday. I don't know where that website gets their numbers. The bandwidth seemed out of proportion from traffic, but it looks like the amount of hits (thus, how long people are staying on my site) has increased. I've gotten nearly 5,000 UVs so far this month and have used almost 80% of my bandwidth. (7,600/10,000 MB).

I got 1,400 visitors from this Tom Woods link alone: http://www.tomwoods.com/blog/want-ron-paul-to-win-the-iowa-caucuses/

Legit. Well, so far I've spent a couple grand. Of course, being I'm not working while on the road, I have a monthly $60 cell phone bill (make use out of this a lot for organizing), and $10 web hosting (which will be $20 next month).

I just bought a bus ticket for $80 to Florida for Dec. I have to buy one to Boston for $100. If I act timely I can get MegaBus tickets for $1 to Phily and DC, so that is cheap. And then I found a $120 ticket from DC to California if I act in time.

To get to CO and Iowa I spent about $300 on train and flight. A lot of money has gone to food, and is my biggest cost.

I'll have to get thrifty with it going forward, but being able to go to local restaurants, bars and coffee shops always leads me into conversations with locals about what I am doing, thus, a conversation about Ron Paul (amongst other topics).

There are also travel expenses within the area, I took the bus around Colorado for instance to meet with Libertarian Party and Ron Paul groups. Out in MA and PA that'd be a huge asset.

Then there are just general expenses that come up. Say it's freezing cold in Boston in Feb. I might need a beanie or gloves. I have only a few changes of clothes, some new Ron Paul shirts would help out. I might need to replace my jeans that are getting torn up farming. Will need to get some new soap (have a bottle of "all-in-one" I've been carrying around, it's almost out). I can usually do laundry at people's places, but sometimes I need to hit up a laundry mat. You know, modest living expenses.

I've been using http://couchsurfing.org and http://wwoofusa.org to find lodging (and food at farms where I work). Those experiences as well lead into a lot of great conversations about politics and society (and Ron Paul).

I'm pretty resourceful, but having some extra funds would make it a little more pleasant.

In addition to that, I wanted to create some Meet-Up groups to work with "progressives" in those areas, obviously that isn't up many RP supporter's alley, but when I simply attend a Green Party meeting and mention that I'm helping Ron Paul (they always ask, "what brings you here" I do work with them on their stuff, but I always mention my entire effort), it opens up conversation about the subject. If I were helping organized supporters for the Green Party and mention that I'm using skills I built by working with the Ron Paul campaign, it will open up minds even more.

Here is my proposal for that effort which didn't get any funds (requested $300 for just the meet-up costs): http://freeindependentsun.com/republic/grassroots-for-progress-organizing-the-green-party-money-tree-fundraiser/

Now, I first shot for $1776, now I'm shooting for $2012, the numbers have meaning, and I figure even if I get half or a quarter of that I'll be good. If I get the whole thing I can do a lot more. I can buy resources for supporters to use, I can travel more around the areas I am in. I can even put money back into the campaign during the money bombs if I feel like I got more money than I need from supporters.

I hate asking for money. If I make nothing I can still do the bare minimum of what I want to get done. I'll be able to reach my destinations, sell the rest of my silver, and buy groceries. Maybe get some shifts bartending or washing dishes somewhere while I'm in Boston and Phily.

I do understand the market and how if what I'm doing is of value I'll make money doing it, at the same time, I don't use google adsense on my site, and try to only promote companies/products I respect. As you might notice if you check my site, I use banner space to promote Ron Paul (including my head banner for the Support Them Now money-bomb).

Chip-in allows me to simply ask my readers to contribute directly. I have been talking to some companies about advertising, actually just got off the phone with AOCS Mint, they might be open to barter silver/copper for advertising once I put together my current numbers for them.

If you can think of any solid companies for me to approach let me know (so far I've contacted System76, TypeMatrix, and AOCS Mint).

Aside from that, read my articles that I linked to about what I've been doing on my trip. If that is something you want to support that'd be awesome!!

Thanks for the Comment!

Jack

I have get to get anything for my lead-in website idea. It has a target of $70 for the most basic website costs. That said, I think I have to expand and detail my plan on how it will capture more votes for Ron Paul.

What is your lead-in website idea?
