It's pretty obvious that they're going to pick Steve Jobs no matter the outcome.

Why bother? We win and they don't report it. Rinse and repeat.

Why give them the traffic?

I agree. I'll admit I almost voted for him.

would steve jobs have anywhere near as many votes if he didn't die this year? how does dying make you person of the year?

No way I'm done with Times completely. Between our hundreds of video responses and the overwhelming poll win previously for POTY to the unreported to the magazine cover bracket wins. What a sham of a media outlet.

Sells magazines...people will think that they'll be collector's items one day.

Time has never selected a deceased individual. It would be rather out of character for them to select Jobs.

I know I'm biased, but if they go with an individual it really has to be Paul for standing at the crossroads of the Tea Party and the Occupy movement (and for setting the national dialog with respect to the wars, the Fed, PATRIOT, etc.).

My guess is that Paul will get an "honorable mention" and that they'll select some sort of conglomeration:

- "Arab Spring"
- The fascist imbeciles (Merkel/Sarkozy/Trichet/Lagarde) trying to hand Europe to the banks
- OWS/Tea Party but with no mention of RP

Only down by less than 500 votes. :)

Everyone loves Steve Jobs, but no one knows about Dennis Ritchie. They died on the same week, yet there was no media for poor Dennis, who created the C programming language (which makes programming all the iApps possible).

Perhaps you missed my previous "TIME HAS NEVER HONORED A DEAD PERSON" post.

Don't worry, I read it. I was just commenting.

He (Ron Paul) appears to be winning by over 200 votes at this point...

A lot of people on there seem to be perfectly fine with tyranny as long as they can have their precious Apple products.
