FARGO — Breann Fischer drove all night from northwestern North Dakota to listen to Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul during his brief stop Saturday night in Fargo.

Thanks to a sound system snafu, the 26-year-old farmer and dozens of other young people had a chance to get their pictures taken with the 76-year-old Paul, who last came to North Dakota in 2008 to court college students before the state's presidential primary.

“I agree with him 100 percent,” an excited Fischer, of Grenora, said after posing with the Texas congressman before the electronics were fixed in the Fargo Civic Center.

And we need more closet RP fans to come out, regardless of foreign policy! Finally a half decent write up by the AP. Would have been nice if they covered the event in Bachmann's district that drew in over 3000 people too :p

Dustin Gawrylow, director of the North Dakota Taxpayers Association, said he's a “closet Ron Paul guy” who likes the candidate's stance on everything but foreign policy. “North Dakotans generally are in the libertarian, leave me alone, guns and freedom type of entity,” Gawrylow said. “North Dakotans want to be left alone and feel that they can run their system better than everybody else.”
