We have had billboard space made available as an in-kind contribution to ALC PAC (http://alcpac.com/projects/). (Chris Rye, the director of For Liberty.)

We got an excellent deal on the printing at $1 per square foot. Other associated costs are hanging materials and electricity for the long winter nights.

This billboard is a massive 48 feet by 18 feet!

I will donate to this, but I have a question - it is 11/3 and that billboard is marked for 11/11 -- that is cutting it awefully close. What happens after 11/11, where is the supportthemnow site gonna go, since the money-bomb will be over.

I was gonna donate earlier but I have some lingering questions on what the plan is.

Yea, we knew it was going to be close. I'm pretty sure we already ordered the billboard. Shh...

The billboard will stay up until the in-kind donation $ max is reached in ad space.

Post 11-11-11 it will still be an effective billboard and we will still be able to display whatever we think is best on that domain.

For $1000, this is hard to beat imo... Nay, not just hard to beat, impossible!

I challenge you to find me a more effective donation project on the web for RP today. We need to be promoting that one as well. ;)

I still don't like putting Obama on the sign or any ad. There are a few reasons.

1> We are running against Republicans right now.
2> You could split out the other republicans and make Paul look EVEN BIGGER
3> Once you show that Obama is bigger than the other Republicans that will
make republicans wonder why?? Maybe the reason is that liberals contribute
more money? And maybe that means Paul is an even bigger liberal than Obama?

You could say Obama gets so much because he is the sitting president but once
you get thought #3 in a republican voters head it is not going to leave even
if it has been refuted ... and chances are ... it won't get refuted because
you're not there to refute it.

Please, remove Obama from the comparison.

I am a fan but I read that the military support claimed by Ron Paul was actually a relatively small part of the money that he has raised. That said Ron Paul by default has an advantage in military donations so far. Mitt and Herman got most of their money from corporate entities and big banks. None the less the money Ron Paul has raised is said to be $60,000 dollars. That is hardly the kind of money raised that would be billboard worthy. I am not trying to be confrontational because I support Ron Paul but that however does not stop me from being honest and seeing things that don't always come through shades that see all things for Ron Paul.

The point isn't how much money he raised from military donations and how it compares to his total. The point is that he receives the most money out of every candidate, including Barack Obama. When you compare it to his opponents, that is what matters. If you were to compare Obama's military donations to how much he raises each quarter, it would be miniscule. Therefore, this is billboard worthy. The troops clearly support RP the most.

Unfortunately they haven't gone up yet. It rained for three days at the beginning of the week, then it was windy, then on Friday when it would have been good, Ron DeClue had a previous commitment as he does today... Tomorrow he can do it, but it's supposed to be windy again. Then rain and thunder on Monday, so it looks like it won't happen until Tuesday. Hopefully it won't be windy then!!!

(You can't hang the big ones if it's blowing more than 10 mph evidently--too much chance of it whipping around, getting torn up, etc.)

We were having great weather up until about now....but we just didn't have the signs back from the printer until this spate of bad weather. There are three days this coming week that should work--Tues. Wed. Thurs....UNLESS there's too much wind.

Sorry to report this, but we're just having to be patient at this point.
