Ron Paul's plan claims that it cuts $1 trillion in the first year, but in most other contexts, numbers are quoted like "cut $1.5 trillion in 10 years" for the super committee.

If you scroll down to "Budget Comparisons":

You'll see that over the first term/4 years, Ron Paul's budget would cut spending by $4.1 trillion relative to the baseline and $4.8 trillion relative to Obama's budget.

It wouldn't be too inaccurate to say Ron Paul's budget would cut spending by $10 trillion in 10 years.

One can also say Ron Paul's budget would have the total deficit $2 trillion less than Obama's after 4 years.

Ron hates that kind of accounting, but..... we could translate both ways, Romney's cuts not at all year one and Ron's cuts a trillion, by year 4 Romney's cuts $500 billion from projected increased spending and Ron's would cut [whatever from projected increased spending]. Apples and apples, so to speak.
