View Full Version : Herman Cain Cain Allegedly Made Inappropriate Comments to Women at Iowa Radio Station

Deace, who penned an opinion piece critical of Cain earlier this month, told POLITICO in an email that Cain said "awkward" and "inappropriate" things to the staff at his station.

"Like awkward/inappropriate things he's said to two females on my staff, that the fact the guy's wife is never around...that's almost always a warning flag to me," Deace wrote. "But I chose to leave that stuff out [of the opinion piece] and make it about his record and not the personal stuff."

Pressed about what exactly Cain said to the employees of his show, Deace responded by describing how he himself treats his staff.

"Many a man has been done in by the inability to control his urges,” Deace wrote. “I am no different and just as vulnerable as any other man, which is why I put safeguards around me and hold myself accountable to my wife and other men in my life. Especially since I have very talented employees that happen to be women. I go out of my way to treat them like my sisters. For example, I wouldn't tell them or any other woman I am not married to nor related to how pretty she is."

Asked how Block would know that the women at the station were uneasy about Cain’s behavior, Deace said he didn’t know.

OK, I guess, except that even when he discusses the Fed in his article he only mentions Bachmann and Santorum as having worked Iowa hard, and Ron has been there as often as Bachmann (Santorum moved there and has no day job.)

The denial among some local tea party supporters in light of all his incredible displays of ignorance coupled with this sex scandal is, well, see for yourself. There is no getting through to them.

Until they show us a dress with Cain’s seminal DNA on it, I don't care.
Cain should demand a name or use the word “slander.” Expose who the females are and put them through the same wringer he’s going through.
No DNA, no police report, no sexual harassment claim filed with the EEOC, it’s just a “he said, she said,” and the female who got the $$$ has motivation to get more $$$.
I want more proof than her mouth. That's not proof.[/h]Perry Camp Denies Leaking Cain Harassment Story, Fingers Romney Campaign (http://nationaljournal.com/2012-presidential-campaign/perry-camp-denies-leaking-cain-harassment-story-fingers-romney-campaign-20111102)

that can be spun. he didn't say nukes, but "nuclear capability", which could refer to carriers. but his support for TARP is unambiguous and TARP is the reason the tea party exists. this shows you the intelligence of the electorate.

They know ALL about these things. I've provided links to everything and they just deny everything. I've never seen anything like this. Completely irrational.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
Believes that an audit of the Federal Reserve would reveal nothing of interest. A partial audit obtained last year under the leadership of Ron Paul revealed LOTS of things of very interesting things!
Supports special corporate welfare and bailouts, supported TARP (Is a corporatist).
Endorsed Mitt Romney in the last presidential campaign and has expressed a high opinion of him. Birds of a feather…
Was on the Board of Aquila Corporation during an Enron-type scandal in which many people lost their retirement savings.
Completely failed to recognize the housing and financial crises. (How can he fix the problems when he didn’t know they existed??)
Believes that “life, liberty, & the pursuit of happiness” is a phrase from the Constitution (actually from the Declaration of Independence, of course). (!?!?!?!?!)
Believes that gun rights is a State and Local issue (that States have the right to ban guns). (!?!?!?!?!)
Does not understand the importance of Uzbekistan (and can’t even pronounce the name).
Does not understand what “right of return” means in the context of the Palestinian/Israel issue. (!?!?!?!?!)
Is unaware that China has nuclear weapons. (!?!?!?!?!) http://shanghaiist.com/2011/11/01/go...e_herman_c.php (http://shanghaiist.com/2011/11/01/gop_presidential_candidate_herman_c.php) (link to original PBS video in the article)

Yes, but that along with the Right of Return gaffe and you'd think it would paint a clear picture of his foreign policy knowledge.

With his Tea Party support, I guess they forgot all about how much TARP pissed them off.

"For example, I wouldn't tell them or any other woman I am not married to nor related to how pretty she is."

So it's now sexual harrassment to tell a woman that she's pretty? Is there anything a business owner could say to a woman that wouldn't be considered sexual harrassment?

It isnt appropriate in the workplace, and most certainly not when the person you are complimenting in such a way is an underling.

The radio show host was very evasive about what he actually said. I'm sure it goes deeper. Anyway, when you're in a woman's work environment where she has to be, I think it's inappropriate to hit on her.

Yes, so by that definition, just about anything can be considered "sexual harrassment."

I don't know that it's sexual harassment, but since you asked - it's technically considered bad etiquette to comment on the appearance of another person, period, with the rare exception being a discreet mention designed to save a fellow human from embarrassment - things like an open fly, or a skirt tucked in panty hose...

I have to ask this - do you guys seriously not know that every office usually has at least one pervert? And that management almost always rallies 'round their own when things get especially ugly?
