Covered this yesterday. I think he was just trying to pick the candidate from whom he could pull no support. You could tell it was a political calculation.

Good choice. Because there is no one more frightening to the GOP establishment, Fed insiders, banksta bailout types, warmongers, and neoclowns (BIRM) than Ron Paul.

Freedom, Peace, and Prosperity are scary!
