I can't find a good Mises daily on the ethical reasons for full drug legalization. Thornton has a great one making the economic points, but I'm looking for a good article to supplement that with the ethical argument. It certainly doesn't have to be from Mises.org, I'm just looking for a good link to send to a friend along with Thornton's.

I think this applies.

I'm encountering arguments of the nature that certain drugs invite a higher probability of crime due to their nature (meth in particular). The non-aggression principle fits perfectly, and it's the argument I've tried to make. I think a well grounded article would be more effective. Does anyone have one applying this directly to the drug war?

David Friedman takes a utilitarian approach as opposed to the natural law and he says "But I think we must be open to the possibility that, given our circumstances and our society, no such solution is possible, that the overuse of recreational drugs is simply one of those evils that must be endured because there is no practical way of curing it."

You may find some stuff here: http://daviddfriedman.blogspot.com/search?q=drugs

Other than that, I'm not sure. Hopefully someone else can find something.
