If Ron loses the nomination Ron needs to put the final nail in the GOP's coffin by running 3rd party. The party has still not learned it's lesson and must be purged to make way for Rand in 2016. If Romney wins the Presidency the Socialist Democrat take over of the GOP will be complete and there will be no chance of us taking back the party or country for 8-12 years. By that time it will be too late.

A GOP loss means we still have a chance of control in Congress and running Rand in 2016.

Is this some kind of tactic to scare the GOP? If not I would stay silent on the subject.

At this point in time, if Ron didn't win the nomination and went third party, it wouldn't even put a dent in the coffin. Quite frankly, people don't vote third party, and even with Chuck Baldwin being endorsed by Ron Paul in the last election, he didn't get any more votes than a third party candidate normally gets.

Now, I'm not saying that a vote for third party is a wasted vote (I vote third party quite often), I'm saying that most people I talk to aren't even aware that third parties exist, and those who are more politically aware tend to write them off as fringe groups who don't fit in anywhere. If Ron Paul ran third party, it wouldn't make a dime of difference, as the two parties that run the show get the most votes. Third-party candidates simply don't win presidential elections, as much as it pains me to say it.

Now, if Romney wins, I agree that the two main parties will be all but inseperable, but not unsalvagable. As long as people like Ron and Rand Paul keep winning on Republican tickets, there's hope. When this pervasive big-government philosphy begins to dismantle the Republican party at the local levels, then we'll have to find a way to get people voting third party, and I don't want to think about how to make that possible right now.

Unhappy with the party nominee, Republicans sat home or voted 3rd party 2008. McCain would have won otherwise. You can't compare the support of a nationally known figure like Ron Paul to that of Chuck Baldwin. A Ron Paul 3rd party run would take enough votes away from the GOP to ensure a repeat of 2008. If he loses we still win as long as the Democrat nominee wins this time around.

Otherwise expect 8 years of Romney with no chance of taking back the Presidency in 2016.

There are republicans out there that don't realize that a lot of Ron Paul supporters are going to vote for him no matter if if he gets the nomination or not. Hell, I wrote his name in the last time around. Now include the 3rd party independents that will also vote for Ron if he goes the third party route. He may not have enough to win but he will have enough that it would give Obama the edge for a second term.

Republicans that don't think he's electable need to be made aware of that fact.
