That Tribune piece is pretty good-- at least they were trying to think. And furthermore:

there may well be big money to be raised, indeed record money, outside the walls of the major parties’ castles

There is an actual NEWS forum, and it would be great if people would post the NEWS in the NEWS forum. Because, this is NOT the NEWS forum.

I thought this was by far probably the best article I've read, but I've still got like 190 articles to read lol...

I like at the end how he makes reference to the whole Guy Fawkes but then explains the reasoning not that it's about violence.

I am so excited this morning!! =)

That Tribune piece is pretty good-- at least they were trying to think. And furthermore:

The Chicago Tribune piece was absolute shit. They painted him as a 3rd party candidate in three ways:

1. They called him Republican AFTER they called him libertarian in the first sentence.

2. They compared him to 3rd party failures Ross Perot and Ralph Nader.

3. They contrasted his big day with "Republican Mitt Romney's" big day as though they are not both Republicans.

Absolute garbage.

So what? We have a right to celebrate the victory and the majority, apparently, want to do it here.

Morning Joe - I only watched a little of it before work. No mention at all of Ron Paul. Plenty of mention of everyone else including Huckabee. Apparently Ghouliani is "on fire" and McCain is "the one to watch". I'm sorry, unless they had some special segment on the RP movement and our megafundraiser separately (which I would bet my right nugget they did not) this is just too much. It's too sickening. And this is our pal Joe Scarborough.

Grrrrrrr! All this talk of "alienation," and "his supporters only support him because he's anti-establishment, " or "a middle finger to D.C." crap is driving me nuts!

What exactly will it take for people to realize that we all truly support Ron Paul's ideals? When the F*CK did Liberty become such a bizarre platform???! What is going on here?

Why does it have to be that we're all just a bunch of weirdos who love Ron because "he's a weirdo, and we're all alienated weirdos and we've finally found our man!" Can they really not accept that we know and understand Ron's politics to the Nth degree, and THAT is why he has our support? Even Tucker Carlson - himself an RP supporter - can't believe that we all reallllly know what Paul stands for. Christ, is the cynicism that deep?

HELLO!? Everyone, I support Ron Paul specifically because he says the things I've been wanting to hear for years. Non-interventionism, free trade, open markets, end the drug war, end the Iraq war, fiscal responsibility, smaller government, no IRS, less taxes and MORE LIBERTY. Zeus help us all if these things are now so "fringe," as to have no merit.

To hell with the MSM.

Yes, the cynicism is that deep. Thank the public school system and 19th-20th century relativist, nihilist, and subjectivist philosophers. The journalists are direct products of all of that madness.

Oh yeah, don't forget the utilitarians.... we've even got a few of those.

Ridiculous

I am absolutely pissed at the lack of coverage. Major news outlets are treating this like yesterday's news. Only a few news stories are even trickling in. This is the political story of the week! I'm am in angry email and phone call mode. If NPR does not mention this I will go ballistic.

If Giuliani did what we did it would be in the news for the rest of the week. Ridiculous.

None of the media are going to do a story on Liberty....that would be a risk that people would actually start thinking what that actually means in comparison to what we actually experience in the Good Ole U S of A.
