yes, there were also M&Ms and cookies, but who the hell wants dried fruit?

Maybe if they were fresh pomegranates or kiwi or something.

White House Trick or Treat Success?

Must be the lobbyists from the dried fruit company.

Yes! I bet the Whitehouse paid 1,000% more than normal for the dried fruit too.

im confused?? I am not sure they should be handing out anything considering the current deficits . In fact they should start teaching these kids reality . Have them stop by when they are done collecting treats and deposit 60% at the door.

this thread isnt about whether or not they should be doing it, it appears as if the OP was upset by the handing out of dried fruit specifically.

Someone should have left a flaming bag of poop for the Secret Service to put out.

Possibly because it is instructive of the idea that if Michelle Obama had her way, she would tell her husband to decree that candy is hereby outlawed?

Possibly because it is instructive of the idea that if Michelle Obama had her way, she would tell her husband to decree that candy is hereby outlawed? Where was it that the soda tax was being considered ? Philadelphia ? And Happy Meal ban ? San Francisco ?

I guess I don't understand the fuss on this one. The Whitehouse handed out cookies, candy, and dried fruit. So what? Or is that something bad or sinister in some way? Or just because it was the Obama Whitehouse doing something? Kinda cool for the kids to Trick or Treat at the White House though.

Ordinarily , I would not consider it a big deal , except the give outs have reached whole , new destructive levels . Time to shut it all down...

I would prefer to see a statement something to this effect ," Due to economic hardship , we have cancelled the Easter Egg hunt " :)

I'd rather have dried fruit versus the nasty junk candy, sugared by GMO sugar beets! :p
