The lack of education in this country is very frustrating to me. The fact that anyone could support a candidate other than RP disturbs me. I believe it is mostly because of a lack of education but it kills me to see so many people shooting themselves in the foot long term by voting for the status quo. Their lack of education, laziness in educating themselves, and general apathy will catch up with them someday as our economy takes a big dump. I think the worst part about it is that unfortunately, most of us here will have to join them in their misery even though we tried to do something about it.

Too much tv...I know, I grew up with tv as a third parent.
I think Jay Leno, when he does the Jay street walking thing...well he asks people who the POTUS is and they answer, Cheney??

Well, they get what they have coming. But can we avoid being dragged in somehow? =)

..they were educated by the mainstream media and culture to believe that patriotism is defined as loyalty to those in power and the state, and that the purpose of government is to provide you with everything you need to live your own perfect life.

It's the education system (and tv) where they teach I think that government provides everything you'll ever need and to rely on the government. Somehow they got to break free of that idea. I know almost everyone does hate paying income taxes though. MSM and the politicians scare us into thinking we need more government, like the health insurance thing. "Everyone needs health insurance!" or so they say.

Well, people have a right to choose for themselves. That's what democracy is all about, and there are informed reasons to choose someone other than Ron Paul (cough, if you're a socialist, cough).

But what really gets me is all the people who are against Ron Paul for blatantly uninformed or just plain untrue reasons. Grossly Overspending Party, I'm looking at you.

Well, don't you think that's where WE come in? A lot of Ron Paul supporters are knowledgeable in history and political affairs. We've got to start visiting people, handing out literature, and just talking to people about the principles of liberty and how much better we'd be off if we'd just follow the Constitution... door-to-door, if need be.

Yeah, the media isn't going to be much help to us. It will largely be net and grassroots that will make the difference.

I agree, there are millions of morons frolicking about in this country. It seems that Ron Paul supports are those who posess above average IQ's. Condsider this guy, he makes me laugh everytime he posts on my video's. This is the way he/she speaks.....

Sigkim, I agree...I'll run that marathon alongside you to vote for Dr. Paul. We've got that marathon ahead of us. Get your running shoes on and let's go. Talk to everybody you see. Ask the simple, unthreatening question: "Have you thought much about the election, yet?"

Message to Sigkim cont....Asking the previously mentioned question will usually elicit some kind of vaguely formed impression and then a question back to you as to whether you have someone in mind. Voila! I respond, "Yeah, I've been noticing a guy who is beginning to get a lot of attention on the Internet from Democrats and Republicans alike. It's pretty weird 'cause you don't hear much about him on the 6:00 news."

It has been my experience that there are a number of people here who are willing to share what they know, rationally and in a heartfelt way, with those who genuinely want to learn. With respect to your purported deification of Ron Paul I have not seen evidence of such. On the contrary, most of the comments are a testament to his humanity, not his deity. It is precisely this humanity and his principled integrity that has inspired a following. What do you seek?

....I mean come on, we get people like this, and Obama has what? Some glorified stripper on youtube? And her song sucked. We've got analytical minds, free thinkers, and people that arn't stuck leaning on the government crutch. At least we are in good company. Now we just have to put our grey matter to good use and start educating these people, not just about who Ron Paul is, But why the nation needs him. Tell people about the monetary system, tell them about the coming entitlement debacle, show people how entitlement programs fatten the pockets of corporate CEO's that they hate so much. Educate, educate. Knowledge is power. Stupidity is submission.
