Is anyone watching this? I don't have C-Span 2. I heard Ron was slated to speak first.

Wow, did they just do the pledge of allegiance?

In response to that I say "No One but Ron Paul!", ask for unity all you want, it's either Ron Paul or nothing, the GOP has 1 way and 1 way only to get my vote

Most GOP will vote for Ron Paul if nominated to beat Obama, I'll not vote for anyone other than Ron Paul period. If sense will not convince these folks, then direct threats may. Go ahead, see whether we will back down, the GOP can take solace that we cost them an election but they will still lose.

Some speech stumbling but great substance

was that Grassley with his back to Ron Paul ignoring him?

Very good speech. Brought up his relationship with Reagan, and he really hit home on foreign policy. The audience applauded his comments on foreign policy. Some it looked like they did it reluctantly, but knew he was right. Good intro from Rand as well.

Yes it was. He didn't even clap.

Audience response was pretty sleepy. Be interesting to see if it changes with other speakers..

Yes it was. He didn't even clap.

Seems he should get a few phone calls on Monday from Iowans telling of our displeasure.

Pretty sleepy w/ Perry too. Bachmann now...

Bachmann is trying too hard, and is raising her pitch too high also. She is trying to enunciate and sound strong, however it is working against her.

----

I knew I would hear this.. "Lone voice in congress etc."

Bachmann didn't give much opening for applause if they were so inclined. The enthusiasm at this thing is....underwhelming.

If the media didn't already smear him for years, treat him unfairly, and ignore him, then Ron Paul's truth bomb would have blown away that crowd even more. Hopefully the words will sink in. That was an amazing speech.

Perry, meanwhile, responded with a flight of attack helicopters and a war with the world speech otherwise empty.

I had to turn down the volume because the pitch of her voice was too high.. She is trying too hard.

I do like how Santorum is focused very much on the family.

"You can go ahead and applause if you want.." he said more or less. Hehe.
I would of felt horrible for him if nobody had applauded.

they are the establishment type going not for these speakers but because it is a major fundraising event for their organization. They'd be nicer to Romney, I expect.

Newt just said that Ron Paul is correct about auditing the fed and sound money, has been the most consistent, and is a great candidate.

That is what makes him so good of a speaker.. He can engage the audience with humor, however he still appears presidential because he keeps a serious demeanor.

When it comes down to it, he must NOT be underestimated.

It just occurred to me that NewtDot could be the name of the rebuttal web site if a domain name hasn't already been chosen.

Great job that Ron had his son introduce him. Better than that BS commercial propaganda that Perry showed prior to his speech.

he is establishment, and they are the establishment crowd, most of them, imho, but he is intelligent and sounds good if you are not picky about records.
